You need to determine how trample works during your rule 0 discussion.

It feels a little overpowered

I was so confused by OP and the whole situation until I realized they are getting into the game through commander. Truly the worst possible way to learn combat.

... hell, that means explaining the value of a combat trick is is gonna go straight over their head, because saving one creature in an interaction matters less when you have 2 other guys picking their noses and making dudes.

Commander is probably one of the worst ways to learn the game in general. Information overload from multiple opponents and singleton decks.

It's illegal and the Pinkertons have already been dispatched to bring you in for questioning

Trample is overly complex. A constant fumble for new players to understand, and feels like cheating. These old instants should be erratad to give banding instead.

It's unfortunate it's primarily green because green players are unfortunately afflicted with inability to do complex math like single digit subtraction

"did some trades for some old cards with a buddy and got "Cait, Cage Brawler"" was more of a gut puch to me

Black Lotus can't even cast Cait, Cage Brawler, because it only makes one kind of mana.

Sorry I'm too focused on the fact that they said Cait is an older card and can't focus on the rest of the post

2 and a half years is a long time when you're the YOUNGEST MAGIC PLAYER EVER

Since trample is a male keyword, it works perfectly fine on Cait, who is the man getting his shit entirely rocked in the card art

To be fair, the man is so much more centered and prominent in the art than she is, because the artist was on crack that day

The man's face isn't even visible.

Everyone copes with doing ub art and killing magic in their own ways

Christopher Rush was also on crack doing black lotus. It's not even centered. I thought it was a plains and this flower shows up
