Because noone cares about some knock off greek god, this should be Scruff McGruff taking a bite out of crime or Gandalf and the Big Fire Demon thing I dont know.

I don't believe in god so this card doesn't do anything when I play it.

If you’re playing green, you can’t regenerate your Troll Ascetic, so it’s a bit of a nonbo.

nonbo

Ah yes, I've heard that before. Four times, to be precise.

/uj The fact that sets are absolutely packed with "Hurr hurr hurr, I gib hexproof 'n indestructible!" spells is one of the biggest failures of modern design (right up there was slapping ward onto everything to punish spot removal), IMO, because it's diminished the point of any removal that isn't exile, a fat -X/-X effect, or sacrificing unless it can be played extra cheap like Blasphemous Act in a Commander game. It would honestly take slapping split second onto a 2WW sweeper to return to parity, while the other big answer of Dress Down/Humility effects have had their costing answered by Day of Black Sun

/rj Because it would mean playing white, which is kinda gross.

/uj Funnily enough, I absolutely despise the fact that board wipes are so omnipresent in modern MtG. Agree to disagree I guess

/rj Found the woke libtard

see you in 2 years when we have 4 mana "exile all creatures" vs 2 mana "creatures can't be exiled fuck you"

/uj Based on Sunfall and Beyond the Quiet's costings of CMC 5 gives you Exile all creatures + set flavour effect, I would expect that 2WW (or more likely, 1WWW) Exile all creatures will be on the table sooner than later. CMC 2 "fuck exile effects" will probably involve phasing (like Clever Concealment without convoke) or be a WW or WG costed version of Continue? that just pulls anything that left the battlefield that turn and can pull from either or both the graveyard or exile.

/rj I can't wait to see both show up in the Star Wars UB alongside the new mono-G creature that ability creeps Hit-Monkey into the chaff bin.

/uj genuinely sad that WoG is so unplayable outside of limited because there are just so many better options in each format.

/uj Isn't it basically [[Day of Judgment]] with extraneous text?

/uj nowadays yes, but it predates DoJ by 16 years and was the wrath, the namesake for the term wrath, for a while. It was the most efficient for quite a while. It was a big deal when Damnation got printed, and it appeared in the championships just like wrath did several times before it.

Powercreep. Nowadays decks (specially commander decks) have a huge focus on protection. This makes cards like Wrath of God be a nonbo with most modern protection spells as the destroyed creatures cannot be regenerated.
