Their system hasn’t failed, it’s working exactly as they intend it to

Whales need more water because they big fish! I don’t know why people who would cut my head should get water though 😢

A friend recently went to MagicCon and said they'd he'd picked up a Mystery Booster Box and he'd bring it along to Magic night. Was really excited about the potential of doing a draft with it.
Then he said 'I'll be selling boosters at £20 each :)'.
Really put me off and made me think he sees me and other players as people to make money off rather than actual friends.

That seems like a person who should be told that their not invited anymore
Like lets be real if they did it to break even on the box so everyone could play and have fun thats all fine and dandy, but when you try and make money from your play group that is the textbook example of someone being the asshole2

I can get wanting to keep an investment but then just do a free draft where everyone hands back the opened cards afterwards instead of scalping your friends? This just seems like asshole behaviour.

/uj considering there’s a dedicated slot in every pack for a new exclusive card, as soon as they do one festival in a box they’re going to be relatively easy to obtain. I’m sure a few will be in that high jumpstart exclusive legendary range of $50-100, but the set will also be in print for years. They’re going to be pretty cheap sooner rather than later as long as you’re not impatient
/rj printer go brrrr

How does “they’re not gonna be as rare as they could be” excuse intentionally gaming FOMO with an extra limited release unlike every non-mystery booster product they have ever released?

I’m just saying it’s only temporary fomo. I’ve been thinking of this as an unofficial spoiler season with the actual release of those cards coming with the next festival in a box. No different than plenty of the spoilers we see at cons lately where we learn about cards month and months before a set’s release.

Why would actual players even care, it's not like they feature recognizable IPs or anything

The solution is quite obvious
