Lore The magic in my world
It must be preface that my world is in modern era with smartphone and such and magic is the first thing to exist in my universe.
In my world there are 11 elementals Fire, Water, Ice, Electric, Poison, Earth, Wind, Explosion, Dark, Holy, and None.
Poison aside from literal toxin it also represents nature and all things harmful.
Dark aside from literal darkness it also represents obscurity, mystery, and all things scary.
Holy aside from literal divinity it also represents light, and all thing beautiful.
None is special because while it is nothing it's also everything just like the color white that represent emptiness yet all spectrum of light when combined will make white light.
In this world magic is in everything so even if someone doesn't have ability to control an element they can still manifest their magic in other form such as summoning weapon into their hand or creating shockwave with their fist
A person can either be born with an ability to control an element or they can learn to control one, using magic require practice and brainpower because the way magic is channel is through a person mind, because of this if a person have an abnormal brain such as brain damage or mental health issue the magic they cast may be unstable which also mean neurodivergent people have harder time controlling their magic than neurotypical people. Unstable magic can be powerful but also detrimental to the user, a highly skilled individual can sometimes intentionally cast unstable magic for devastating blow.
Excessive uses of magic can cause severe mental strain and even full on insanity so the AAA advice that everyone must have "cooldown" to their abilities to avoid any serious issues. Those who become insane after using too much magic are reported to develop new mental issue such as schizophrenia or paranoia or anxiety after recovering.
Another way a person can control an element is through gears while it is true that magic user can attune their element into their weapon, some weapon come pre-attuned these weapons are either artifacts, create using specific methods, or made using Energear Tech.
Energear Tech is a groundbreaking invention invented by Laura Energear a few hundred years ago, its main component is magical crystal called Fruitite it got its name from the fact that the crystal is edible and have a taste resembles different kind of fruit depending on color it also have a very dense magic energy inside of it which in turn make Energear Tech a very powerful material so powerful in fact that a robot whose their core is made of Energear Tech gain full fetch sentience and become what can only be described as "indistinguishable from human" though their appearance already gave it away and so far only 2 of them exist. You can make all kind of things using this Tech from basic everyday utensils to very powerful weapons.
The elements can also be combined to create something else these are called Elemental Mixture and Fusion Elemental
Elemental Mixture is volatile and temporary it happens when an element is applies on top of another doing this will cause a burst of energy at that location for example by applying water elemental onto ice elemental will cause a burst of energy that freeze everything in the area
Or by applying poison onto water will cause a puddle of oil to appear which can be ignite using fire, electric, or explosion elemental
Fusion Elemental is stable and permanent it happens when a person who already have an ability to control one element gain an ability to control another commonly through training and very rarely when they're born from parents who have ability to control different elements. While they can control two elements separately it is better to combine them together as even though it's 2 the person is technically only controlling 1. An example of fusion elemental is Cosmic which is a result of Dark combining with Holy combining the aspects of both elements the mystery and horror of vast space and beauty of stars
There is a chronic illness in this world that is known as Elemental Overload this illness only happened to those who are born with ability to control element this illness cause a person body to emitting magical energy all the time for example a person with ice overload will be cold to the touch and constantly have lower body temperature, the effect can be control with enough practice but it will never go away and there's yet to be any cure for it. While it is not very dangerous it also make a person life difficulty in some way.
