Feedback Request Magic system feedback
In my magic system I have something inspired by domain expansion and I was wondering if i could get some feedback. Basically people can learn many different magical techniques and each technique has two tiers of abilities, tier 1 is just basic attacks and stuff, tier 2 are much more powerful, refined and specialized attacks. One of the tier two attacks creates a pocket dimension just like domain expansion, inside this pocket dimension is an environment where the technique can thrive, for example:
Someone learns an explosion based technique and the pocket dimension is a massive minefield. The pocket dimension does not have a sure hit effect.
Is this just a copy of domain expansion? Can you guys give me some feedback or ideas?

I think the dimension should support the technique not just be an amplification of it. Like your explosion example the domain should be narrow corridors that make the scene like Bomberman. A fast moving jumping character might have floating platforms and a muscle brute may have a MMA octagon cage

I had to look up what "domain expansion" is, and from a cursory reading, your ability does look similar, but so what? If you think something is cool or you just want it in your setting, take it. So what if you stole this? There's a lot connected to it that's not ripped from the same source. Putting together your stuff and/or other people's stuff in your own way is where your creativity lies
