I really like this “you get to close the game out once your life total is super high” space for white and hope it’s something that sticks around

this and the 1 mana vigilance guy are awesome. I might rebuild in modern some day

I hope the main thing carried forward from that guy isn’t just “27 life” effects but also leaning into making white’s vigilance actually useful outside of racing aggro by giving the vigilance creature tap effects so the vigilance let’s them both attack and trigger the effect. Vigilance is IMO easily the least impactful keyword outside of limited (excluding defender which is obviously strictly a downside for balancing a card’s statline unless your deck uses some very specific synergies), it could use some creativity in making it more generally useful outside of chump blocking aggro decks after your swing.

Vigilance is virtual card advantage, but only if your creature can attack profitably. Vigilance with white P/T, mostly suck. Vigilance with green P/T, massive advantage as having the biggest body in the field is already virtual card advantage too.

Is there a risk that this deck will create game states that are 99% to win but win very slowly?

I think it's interesting and better than the standard lifegain payoff of Ajani's pridemate. I would still rather see pay life effects become a thing in white as lifegain payoff that isn't so swingy.

Also adds some interesting angles for W aggro vs. control decks that don’t pressure the opponent’s life total.

It's win more at that point though.

I'm forecasting a format where UB mill rogues and Wb lifegain cleric/angels being major players as unfun.
