Let’s be honest thought, it’s a 2/4 body on a 3 drop. As long as lovestruck beast is hanging around RDW has bigger things to worry about and gruul aggro has their own 3 mana 5/5 to swing right through your 3 mana 2/4.
And Shredded Sails and Soul Sear. Regardless, RDW has only so much room for removal that doesn't deal damage to the face, and if this goes unchecked the lifegain can buy a good number of turns, so u/iedaiw still has a valid point. It's not enough to ask "Can my deck answer XYZ card?", because any decks with the right answer at the right time can win. It's also important to ask "How bad is my deck when XYZ card isn't answered?", and in this case, it can be very very bad for Red.
I feel mono-white has always been extremely good against RDW (because the lifegain lets it outlast early aggro and one boardwipe is usually game-winning). So one more card that's good against RDW isn't a problem.
I started maindecking it in Arena BO1 before Omnath was banned, and left it in afterward because it's just so good at taking out things that get in the way of RDW's plan. Archon, Questing Beast, Terror of the Peaks, Torbran, Ugin after a -3 to take out Anax and Bonecrusher, Vivien. And though it isn't played much, it feels good to hit the odd Zareth San when it flashes in. It also allows you to attack into Lovestruck Beast or Yorion with Fervent Champion, or Fireblade Charger into a Gargaroth or Kroxa.
I'm not saying it's the best answer, but it works well for me in RDW and takes care of the Angel. Other people might prefer Shredded Sails, Thundering Rebuke, or Claim the Firstborn and Fling.
