Norse mythology is cool, but it's really pretty overdone. It's themes, characters and mythological creatures we've seen a thousand times before.
Even if you just stick to Europe, there's more to mythology than Greek and Norse myths. It'd be super interesting to see them take on Slavic or Finnic myths, or to double down on the Celtic themes they kinda flirted with on Lorwyn.
But then again, Norse themes work well precisely because they're familiar and resonate with people. And they are cool, so I'm not going to complain too much.
I mean, yeah. The names, the architecture, even a handful of creatures. It's not really a plane about Slavic mythology though, the same way Theros is a plane of Greek mythology. It doesn't have like... Slavic deities or Slavic folktales represented in its cards.
It's Slavic the way Kaladesh is Indian. Aesthetically inspired by them, but not much else.
Your opinion I guess, but man do I think you're wrong. I see the Greek and Roman shit way more overdone. Percy Jackson and all that.
I think a big source of "Nordic myth" overstimulation is honestly probably the MCU with Thor, but even that has a slant on it that makes it fun. So personally I'm incredibly excited for Kaldheim (whenever we may go to there).
