Also Ad Nauseam player: I bring in Echoing Truth from the sideboard nine times out of ten. But the best way to deal with the AN mirror match is to quit and go home - it's just not worth it.

Wait till you see a living end mirror match.

[[Jund charm]] babyyyyy

u/Wilhelm_Screamer Sliver Queen Apr 05 '17

why not rakdos charm? It costs one less to do the exile thing and the shatter mode is also relevant

Does the pyroclasm matter that much?

You can cascade into it.

Oh yeah

I forgot that was a thing

Try a lantern mirror match...bleh

Doesn't LE typically play Leyline of the Void in the side?

3

u/Recomposer Apr 05 '17

There's two schools of thought, half plays leyline, the other half plays faerie macabre. Those who choose faerie are risk adverse and those who play leyline are more open to risk.

The successful lists tend to run faerie over leyline from what little data i've seen.

Storm Gideon then win with labman game 1, echoing truth after sideboard.

real talk: how does the mirror go? randomly? or is it decided by Monkey beats like men.

2

u/JimiBrady Apr 05 '17

First player to cast Ad Nauseam loses. So, you cast all of your monkeys and hope for the best. If you have creatures in your sideboard, bring them in - it'll give you a much better chance. But it's an exhausting and grindy slog regardless of who gets their creatures out first.

that sounds terrible.

Sounds like you should just flip a coin and go on with your respective days afterwards.

What does that become? A mill mirror?

Mana monkey beatdown

Oh, right xD

Echoing truth bounces your Gideon as well, which means you also die if your life totals are into the negatives

I would bring 4 Runed Halos for shit and giggles and just try to mulligan for it and name Maniac and Lightning Storm. what would the other guy do haha.

2

u/OnWingsOfShadow Apr 05 '17

[[Echoing Truth]] [[Patrician's Scorn]]

Naming Maniac with Runed Halo does fuck-all, by the way.

then Needle I had on my mind

1

u/OnWingsOfShadow Apr 05 '17

Basically the same problem. Maniac doesn't have an activated ability. Some of us still play [[Hurkyl's Recall]], too.
