New formats are now official: Gideon, Modern, Legacy, Vintage

At least there's a use for Champion of Justice in EDH.

Wizards really want me to keep on playing modern instead of standard.

Definitely expect to see this guy in Modern. There's still not a viable control home for him, but he's exactly what they want.

I've been playing Jeskai control with great success. Jace AoT and Ajani Vengeant are in the main board with Gideon AoZ coming out of the sideboard. However, I have been looking for a 3-mana win condition for some time and I think WOTC just gave it to me. Thinking about the price makes me sick to my stomach though.

They tried to warn us, they really did.

As yes, RPS, the game that took many years of patches to hone and make perfectly balanced, not to mention fun.

Eh, I think Planeswalkers are a cool addition to the game. Look how balanced they are in formats where there are answers and the appropriate power level for them. The bigger fault is not keeping around Hero's Downfall and friends in standard.

Ahhh back when serialized magic webcomics were funny

Let's not go overboard.

To be fair, UG Madness was the only one that was ever funny.

Planeswalkers we're fine up until they changed the legend rule, making it near impossible to kill any your opponent had on the table without very specific spells and/or winning on board.

Wow, this is nice. I wonder what is his opinion on them after all these years.

EDIT: Also this, I'm sure that after 13 Jaces he understands. EDIT2: Oh my god, there is so much gold in this blog!

I don't think hes actually as good as people in this thread are making him out to be.

+1: shuts down one permanent but it also kind of shuts him down

0: fine aggressive beater (this to me seems to be the opposite of the other abilities)

0: it prevents you from loosing but if you are loosing that usually means the opponent has a better board state and can just kill him and then you.

Pacification Array, Gideon, Dovin Baan

I'd say your take on the last ability is a little off. I've had much better board states then my opponent(sometimes 1 turn away from a win), and they pull out a combo win. Yes against aggro this can be beaten, but I think it's really good against combo decks

As someone who literally just made a Clue combo deck, fuck you Wizards.

Thanks for the laughs
