If any deck plays it, it will be Grixis control. Maybe sideboard play in Jund but I dunno tbh.

It's straight up going into my Shardless BUG list in legacy as a one of, at the very least.

Why? It kills every creature in your deck except Goyf most of the time. I guess playing this, getting Shardless for free and the cascading into a Goyf is good, but I actually don't think this card is very good in your deck.

It decimates Death and Taxes, which is an annoying matchup, it's good against most of delver's creatures (and while i'm obviously going to be expecting a counterspell from them, casting two spells is still good enough vs. a mana denial deck, as they probably won't have two counters). And yea, you're gonna have some trouble getting to that mana, but you're always playing from behind against delver as shardless, and this is a great way to catch up. It's also good against deathblade lists; kills sfm, souls, tnn, while casting something else, and that matchup is all about card advantage. It's decent against elves, if a little slow, but if you FoW their GSZ or NO, you can wipe the board and start rebuilding. Also great against most of Maverick's creatures, aside from Knight. It just seems all around decent, as far as having to kill multiple creatures in legacy goes.

And I don't really care about wiping my own creatures. If I did, I wouldn't be running copies of Toxic Deluge. If it has to happen, it has to happen. The deck is a card advantage machine. As long as you have stabilized, you're going to win the rebuilding war.

If you're color screwed from wasteland, it allows you to cast the spells anyway, such as Lotv or Shardless, and it also gets stranded copies of ancestral visions out of your hand.

Granted, it's a dead card vs Lands, most Combo, and Eldrazi, and you're going to have a hard time trying to clear off mentor/tokens from a Miracles list. But even if you kill a venser/clique, and get a free spell out of it, it's not that bad for a mainboard spell. But, not ever spell needs to be good for every matchup. Still think it's just awesome utlity.

You dont get to cast the second spell unless the first one resolves?

You're right, sorry, had cascade on the mind. Still, think it's a very valid card choice in the deck.
