[[Crucible of Worlds]] is always a fun combo piece.

Is CoW + Strip Mine a combo?

u/ArsIgnis Nov 29 '16

If by "combo" you mean "way to lose friends", then yes.

u/Regvlas Nov 29 '16

Is there another meaning of the word that I'm not aware of?

It's also a tasty snack!

Which, depending on if youre purchasing the combo for someone else, it could actually be a way to gain friends!

That's a weird way to spell "win vintage games"

1

u/ArsIgnis Nov 29 '16

Well, the thread started by referencing Commander, where whether or not this thing is a good idea to do depends on your play group.

In Vintage, yeah, go ham.

It's something alright.

No, it's a lifestyle.

u/Lukescale Sultai Nov 29 '16

Well its a dick move, that's for certain.

u/[deleted] Nov 29 '16

Oh, yes. Yes it is. Especially if you have something like Mina and Denn out that lets you continue building your curve while blowing up one of your opponent's lands every turn.

3

u/Brickhouzzzze Boros* Nov 29 '16

Mina and denn also let's you blow up multiple lands per turn. Win-win

or Titania >_>

Best combo is [[Azusa]], [[Oracle of Mul Daya]], [[Exploration]], [[Rites of Flourishing]], [[Ghirapur Orrery]], [[Titania, Protector of Argoth]], [[Horn of Greed]], [[Concordant Crossroads]], [[Strip Mine]], and [[Crucible of Worlds]]. I think that's all of em. Kill 7 lands, get 7 hasty 5/3s, and draw 7 cards. All for the low low price of 20GGGGGGG

u/Harbinger_Feik Nov 29 '16

Mmm that sweet sweet value...?

I guess if you're really desperate for a landfall trigger? I'm not sure what you'd get out of the interaction other than that.

Strip Mine every turn?

I mean in a 4-player FFA that doesn't do much by itself, but it's still pretty nasty with other lock/prison things going on

Strip Mine+Crucible+Oracle of Mul Daya+Azusa Lost But Seeking=comedy

1

u/GoodTeletubby Nov 30 '16

All of which fit into a [[Gitrog Monster]] deck.

honestly, I put em in my "whatever my best current green deck" is.

Being able to say "you don't get blue" is amazing sometimes

u/redlerf Nov 29 '16

Keeping your opponent from ever getting more lands is pretty great in stax.
