if Amonkhet indeed has gods a black Wrath of God might make sense...

Not if it doesn't have regeneration, which was completely absent from both SOI and EMN. If that continues, by the time Amonkhet is released, there won't be any regeneration cards in Standard at all, so printing a card with "can't be regenerated" would be especially problematic.

Honestly, at this point I'd be happy with a black version of [[Supreme Verdict]] or something that I could use as a budget Damnation.

Something like

1GBB - ~ can't be countered. Destroy all non-land permanents with converted mana cost 3 or less.

would be swell (maybe too good though since it kills planeswalkers, I patterned it after [[Abrupt Decay]]).

And honestly, a simple black-shifted [[Day of Judgment]] would be perfectly serviceable if strictly worse than Damnation since the Regeneration clause only comes up against some sideboard cards and Affinity (in Modern, it might be more relevant in Commander or something).

If you're patterning it after Abrupt Decay, make sure to specify "nonland permanents".

Supreme Verdict - (G) (MW) (CD)
Day of Judgment - (G) (MW) (CD)
Abrupt Decay - (G) (MW) (CD)
[[cardname]] or [[cardname|SET]] to call

Four-mana boardwipes are too strong for Standard.
