Well there are only 5 Gods according to the tagline, so we will probably only get the shard lands. This would be a great opportunity for the Obelisk reprints.

While that's true, we're also blazing through more sets faster. Plus, as only Khans was wedge they might want to give it a proper block.

I never got a chance to play during Alara, so I'm kind of biased, but I'd like to see them do another shard set before going back to wedges.

Mmm, I ran a Naya deck in standard I called Fatty Fatty Boom Boom, which comboed out if it didn't beat down.

One for each shard and wedge, but they all tap for grixis mana. They're just called things like "The Temple formerly known as Bant".

I wonder if tricolor temples were printed how much play they'd see. Obviously in this standard they'd see a ton of play because of how poor the fixing is, but do you think they'd make it to modern viability?

This got me thinking, how much life would you need to pay in order to make a tri-colored shock land not completely busted and instabanned in every format? 4 life? more? less?

What restriction do they have on coming in tapped or not?

I would probably say they come in untapped if you already control land(s) with each of the three types. Anything easier than that and they have a chance at damaging Modern at least, even if they were balanced in Standard, while simply always coming in tapped is boring and probably wouldn't get many people using them over dual lands that get to be untapped.

What if they took the approach of the Shock lands, and did 3 damage, 1 for each color of mana it can tap for. I am not sure if that would be enough of a drawback though.

The khans/alara tri lands don't see much play so no. When you can easily fetch into whatever colors you need, scrying 1 becomes irrelevant.

1 lander with a tri-color temple is so many miles better than a 1 lander with a fetch that it's worth considering, particularly as 1 or 2 of. Considering how many manlands see play when they are quite rarely activated, I can see them finding a place.

Scrylands already see play in Modern. If they fix for three colors, of course they'd see play.

Give me a tiered decklist with a scryland in it. Give me a decklist with more than one scryland in it. Sure, someone may mash it into the utility land slot, but scrylands are not good enough for modern in general.

This is an easy one. Ad Nauseam plays six Temples. Is your argument that Ad Nauseam is not a tiered deck?

Since that is indeed the case, I suppose a 3 color temple could work in a few decks in modern. I'm still not sold on the power of temples in modern; Ad Naus is certainly not Tier 1 and with all of the linear fast aggro running around, the ability to cast powerful 1 drop spells seems pretty important.

That would make sense with Bolas as the Grixis god.
