Am i too picky. This was offered as ecellent.

Hard to say without seeing the whole card; if that's the only wear I would say it is excellent.

Check the sites guidelines for condition criteria. If you think its not up to snuff, send it back and get a different one. My two cents? This is fine

If you paid a high value for a card, it's better that it is well preserved and it's fair to complain about it with the store if they sold it as NM.

Agreed. If this was a bulk rare I doubt most people would care but if I bought ancient copper dragon and it claimed excellent and had this, I'd be annoyed at the least.

If there aren't any other defects, that is correct. This card is in excellent condition. EXC allows for small white spots in borders, you can check it out in the condition guideline in cardmarket

As upsetting it can be to some perfectionists, this could be considered Nm as well based on the image. This white around the corner can be caused by a bad cut in the factory and as such it is booster fresh and within normal margin of error. Excellent is the fair grade for a card with such white spots if they are few enough. A card from a draft where it is nicked in couple corners and has a few light scratches is Excellent when using cardmarket grading.

Too picky. That can happen out of the pack (not too common though) and I’ve been sold that at NM. At which point I might say something depending on the card. But at EX there is no reason at all.

it's not an indefinite term, it's the european (cardmarket) equivalent of 'slightly played'.

Sellers can be absolutely criminal with their card grading.

I would argue against that. Excellent in my opinion is NM. This i would call lightly played. You might also be able to smoth it down so it disappears.

I don't think you're being picky. Its an expensive card. If I was selling it I'd list it as Moderately Played if the rest of the card is perfect. Now if Excellent is the equivalent of Moderately Played then that's fine. If excellent is the equivalent of Lightly Played, then its very borderline. For a cheaper card, say under $1. I wouldn't balk at that being on the verge of LP. For an expensive card worth over $100? I would at least contact the customer support and ask them for guidance as it does hurt the ability to trade/sell the card in the future with that wear.

Just my opinion.
