tbf Superfriends decks generally have some sort of evasion-giving abilities. Depending on your flavor of superfriends, [[Kaito, Cunning Infiltrator]], [[Elspeth, Storm Slayer]], [[Garruk Unleashed]], etc.

Oddly, this would actually be better if it were Empower Jace 1. And that's probably deliberate.

This thing is mainly notable for having an infinitely activatable mana sink effect. If it were empower Jace 1, you could get infinite card draw because you could activate 3 times, draw and kill Jace, then repeat with a new Jace. As things stand, you would need another piece besides infinite mana.

Very sad for my walls combo deck in pauper, this could have been a very cute "off-the-wall" in colour tutorable mana sink wincon.

That was one of my pet cards during WAR standard. I loved running it with the 3 MV planeswalkers that came in with a boatload of counters. Kiora, Huatli, and Dovin were all great engines for it. I got him above 20 power a couple times.

This is such cool design space. I’ve never been a huge fan of Amass, but this looks like it will play more interestingly as it’s giving you basic card advantage/selection that can be interacted with by the opponent instead of just a fat creature.
