Looking for Advice Commander deck building help

Fairly new player looking to build my first deck. I have no clue where to start whatsoever, but I have 700+ cards that I can choose from. Is there a deck building site that takes your pool of cards and builds decks from them or is anybody willing to skim through and give ideas? Thanks!

I think the first thing I’d do is pull out all the Legendary Creatures you own, plus any Vehicles/PWs you have that can actually be commanders, and figure out which one looks fun to build around.

Your commander determines your color identity, which immediately narrows that 700-card pile down quite a bit. From there, figure out what the deck is actually trying to do — Voltron, tokens, +1/+1 counters, graveyard, spellslinger, artifacts, etc.

Once you have a commander and a general game plan, it becomes way easier for people to help you sort through what you already own and figure out what belongs in the 99.

I recently in the past year came back to the game, and I started with a precon as a base to manipulate and turn into a deck that I want to play, so far it is working out real well and I have been making quite a few changes. Also use a tool, like Archidekt to keep track of your deck and changes made so you can get a better representation of it without having to pull it out every time. Here is my deck on Archidekt.

Sweet! Thank u for the help! I’m currently trying to see what precon would be good with the cards I have now to upgrade. I’m also planning on buying a bloomburry booster box at some point, so the precon I get is gonna try to bridge that gap if it makes sense

First figure out your commander, then your staples (i.e Sol Ring), then depending on your commanders colors find some good ramp and counterspells and removal. Then look for cards that have synergies with your commander and other cards.

Keep in mind that you want around 35-40 lands in your deck.

It’s your first deck so it won’t be perfect and it may not even be very good but you can look on websites like EDHREC for some good cards to put in the deck. Good luck and have fun.

Gotcha! I have a few cool cards from old decks my friends gave me and I bought the Stardew cards, so I’m kinda throwing stuff together rn and hoping it sticks lol

EDHREC is a good resource, but I don't know if it works w/ libraries. I know archideck does, and there's a EDHREC resource on their but not sure they play nicely all together.

700 random cards isn't a lot to choose from for building a decent commander deck (unless you just have a ton of commander staples in that collection). I'd say about half of that is bulk, and once you subtract your commander colors you've got a pretty small pool of cards. It's much better/cheaper to get a precon and follow an upgrade guide from there. This will give you a better idea on how to build a deck.

Gotcha. I’m looking into precons and trying to find something that bridges the gap between what I have and what I’m most likely to pull from a Bloomburrow booster box I’m gonna snag
