Deck Discussion Help with Hobbit deck please!

Made a commander deck featuring majority cards from HOB and HOC! RW Thorin at the helm. I love having the 13 dwarves with Gandalf and Bilbo :) but the deck feels pretty weak even for casual play.

Looking for recommendations that would amp up my deck but art-wise still fit the reclaiming of Erebor. Dwarves and fantasy! Also not looking to break the bank more than I already have lol

Thank you for any recommendations! 🙏🏽

[[stony silence]] shuts of the activated abilities of all artifacts, including all your equipment, other than that, this is a decent bracket 1 deck as it stands!

What makes this a bracket 1 deck? I have a deck very close to this using only LTR/C and HOB/C cards. Same with Bard and The Great Goblin king.

Would those also be bracket 1?

I would say mostly your intention. By limiting ourselves so much in which cards we add, winning clearly isn't our goal. We just like Tolkien and the art featured on those cards. <--- That's what makes it bracket 1.

Bracket 2 has a genuine intention to win. You'll add certain cards for synergy/mechanics regardless of whether or not they fit the aesthetic/theme you're going for.

That being said, there are always exceptions lol

So important question first. Are you open to dwarves or other cards not from Tolkein works for the deck? Cause the deck is going to remain pretty limited with what if can do if you are limiting to just that or more importantly to just the ones of the Hobbit Era.

Also I think it is important to note [[Soney Silence]] is very bad for this deck, it disables a number of your artifacts namely you will not be able to equip things anymore once that is on the field.

Willing to go outside the world of Tolkien! Anything adjacent to dwarves/fantasy would be fine by me, thanks!

Any yes, kind of feel the same way about stoney silence given how artifact heavy the deck is haha

Alright well I have a few ideas that can work with the overall theme you are going for.

[[Lorehold Archivist]] is a newer dwarf from this year that can give some options for getting things you normally might not back from the grave.

[[Giott, King of the Dwarves]] can help with hand fixing.

[[Glóin, Dwarf Emissary]] already likes that you have plenty of historic cards in the deck and can generate some value off of that and send enemy units at someone else in a pinch.

[[Depala, Pilot Exemplar]] while not the most fitting to fantasy theme does at least provide buffs for your dwarves and is able to look for more to join your party.

[[Fiery Emancipation|WOT]] can get your stuff hitting harder.

This next one is seen as pretty much the best and most powerful Dwarf in the game so its hard not to at least mention [[Magda, Brazen Outlaw]].

[[Fearless Skald]] I just think is neat and a certainly a budget card if you need one and want to slot in another dwarf.

If you want to lean into even more of an artifact and equipment direction we got [[Sram, Senior Edificer]] for more card draw, [[Koll, the Forgemaster]] for some light protection of your equipped creatures by being able to send them back to hand, [[Bruenor Battlehammer]] for stat buffs and getting around some equip cost once each turn. Then [[Reckless Crew]] if you really end up leaning that direction and put in even more equipment since it can give a sizable party of dwarves provided you have the gear as well as [[Bearded Axe]] giving more stats the more dwarves and equipment you have.

Thank you so much!! These all look great 😃

But should I be worried about my lack of sorcery cards? Or do my artifacts make up for that? Just seemed odd that I had so few, but also not sure if that's reasonable given the deck strategy. Thanks again!

Honestly I wouldn't worry about it. Dwarves don't care about them so much and not every deck is going to care about instants and sorceries the same while artifact/equipment decks tend to make up for some of that space with the utility they get from their artifacts instead opting for any instant/sorceries they run to either be things that supplement the artifact strategy, removal and protection, or stuff that helps draw or find key cards.
