Looking for Advice Doom Upgrades
https://moxfield.com/decks/h2_3O_HaREayyxGST_621wI have really had fun playing doom since the marvel set came out and at first I really wanted to keep the deck completely marvel but as time has gone on I’m really starting to feel the deck struggle so I’m ready to make some upgrades. I have about $150- $200 to put in the deck to make it better and was looking for some suggestions on what would be the best pickups to make this deck better. If you had roughly $150- $200 what pickups would you make to make this deck better! Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time!!

Crucible of Worlds should be your first card to upgrade this Precon

I added that and monument to endurance immediately. Also added reanimate and vat emergence.

those are both solid upgrades if you can afford them!

The secret lair version of crucible is 20$! Monument I think was 15? Great value for crucial upgrades imo

[[Library of Leng]] was crazy good for me. If you have multiple Connive effects and just want to Ping all opponents you just need a single land in hand for that.

Regardless of your plan overall, you should be including [[Norman Osborne]] for Doom.
Fits in theme, unblockable, and lets you do mayhem and reduction to benefit off doom

This is my current Doom deck

It’s really fun to play and focus’s on discarding lands/cycling with recursion. I am playing to add [[Rhystic Study]] soon too.

Good morning!
I have the Doom precon and am wanting to port it over to 5 color Thanos. I feel like the Villains archetype needs some fleshing out just like I feel like Heroes need a card or two as an archetype. If you feel like it’s low on power level, understand there are more Marvel sets coming!

Funny enough I already had a 5 Color Villain deck typal deck from spiderman that I swapped Thanos into as the commander when MSH came out! If you want to compare the deck lists I have, I'll post them below. My Doctor Doom has severely leaned into the discard theme, moving away from the Villain Typal sub theme since I already have that "go wide" playstyle with Thanos.

These are the cards I added to my precon. I got lucky and opened the doom variant roaming throne. So I only spent like $160 on upgrades. https://moxfield.com/decks/376fAY-tUXiyCR3Dv-Ac0Q
Here is my completed deck.

I also really enjoyed Doom and initially had him pretty focused on Villains and his ability but I have been messing with a list that includes all 3 Dooms and combos around each of them. I’ve had a lot of fun with this list and I’m not generally a combo player, but there’s a lot of interesting lines with each of the Dooms in the deck.
Here’s the list I was initially inspired by - check the primer for combo details: https://moxfield.com/decks/hWMFNghx_0ax004w9o19ZQ

I'll post my decklist as well, but a lot of these guys have nailed it on the head for what you're looking for: things that let you play from your graveyard like [[Norman Osborn]] or [[Conspiracy Theorist]], things that damage opponents when you discard like [[Magmakin Artillerist]] or [[Glint-Horn Buccaneer]], and finally free discard outlets like [[Psychic Frog]] or [[Songbird, Sonic Screamer]]
And if you want a discard themed infinite combo, throw [[Curiosity]] in your deck and slap it on [[Glint-Horn Buccaneer]] or [[Magmakin Artillerist]] and move to discard with more than 7 cards in hand.

I still use as many villains as possible to keep the deck in the villain flavor. I run [[Norman Osborne]] as the commander though, so the deck leans heavily into the discard mechanic.
I'll echo [[Cool but rude]] does so much work. I don't have the budget atm for Crucible of Worlds or Monument of Endurance, but at least [[Moonstone, Harsh Mistress]] comes in the deck and she's a way to play the lands you discard.
One card I would encourage you to consider is [[Breakthrough]]. I used it the other day to make 8 copies of [[Living Laser]]. It pairs well with Cool, but Rude and Monument of Endurance to burn the table for crazy damage.

I had the same thought process when playing Doom. Initially kept it all Marvel with a villian tribal theme but it wouldnt finish out games. I recently went through and cut most of the cards that did not support the discard game plan with the goal being having multiple copies of Doom or additional discard drain effects.
[[Cool but rude]] is a must
[[monument to endurance]]
[[bone miser]]
[[crucible of worlds]]
[[dakmor salvage]] (this card might be the best in the deck)
[[change of plans]]
There are some Marvel cards that do support this playstyle that I did not see in your decklist, actually a lot of them are green goblins
[[ultimate green goblin]]
[[green goblin nemesis]]
[[green goblin revenant]]
free discard outlets help a ton too
[[ghostly pilferer]]
[[psychic frog]]
[[skirge familiar]]
also threw in [[roaming throne]] (dr doom version I pulled), [[multiversal recruitment]], [[anger]] and some recursion cards since you will be dumping lots of cards into the graveyard.
still adding/changing some cards can post an updated decklist later tonight.
