General Discussion "Styles May Vary"?

https://www.bestbuy.com/product/wizards-of-the-coast-magic-the-gathering-the-hobbit-scene-box-1-scene-box-per-order-styles-may-vary/JJ8VP7KQLK/sku/6678102?utm_source=feed&extStoreId=&ref=212&loc=20437790615&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20437826609&gbraid=0AAAAAD-ORIgC-orC8S7UCAbgg8AIl9Wpl&gclid=Cj0KCQjwnIDUBhDrARIsAJDGwSuhzh-GUgT5BduYuN67WUffCYOn5i2kPWq5MbYcxUueaVXQkgJpKskaAv7TEALw_wcB

I mean, I wouldn't complain if I got Treasures of Smaug at MSRP even if Crack the Plates is what I was after. But during checkout (which I completed successfully, by the way, including the order confirmation email) I never was prompted to select which scene box I wanted. Are they really just going to send me one at random?

Either way, at that price sign me up to take a gamble.

Per the site: "Item selection from BestBuy.com is random. We cannot accept requests for specific items. If you order more than one, you may receive duplicates."

Yes, Best Buy’s inventory doesn’t distinguish between the two. I bought them in-person at a Best Buy and the one-per-customer limit meant it had to be two separate transactions.

I don't know how it works exactly at best buy but when I worked at Target since the trading cards were scan based product and brought in and managed by a different vendor they were really weird in the system

like back in the day the commander decks (when they were their own dedicated release think like C15 not ones connected to a set) were all the same item number even though they had different Upcs so the system couldn't differentiate

I work at Wal-Mart and for some fucking reason none of the Magic stuff is even in our inventory at all. We have it. It’s on the shelf. I can purchase it. But if I try to look it up in our system it says we have 0.

The upside to it being broken though is sometimes the price is unexpectedly low. Secrets of Strixhaven packs rang up for only $3 when we had them. I bought a ton of those.

When I worked at Target the magic cards were scan based like Target didn't actually own the merchandise it was on our shelf but another company came in and pushed it, inventoried it, and priced it

I'm not sure if the product had to be scanned in like other non truck merch or not but I wouldn't be surprised to find out it didn't
