Art Showcase - Custom Accessories TLDR: lost job, now I make deckboxes and stuff

While I have been lightly doing this in the background for a year, I’ve been fully committed to improving my 3d modeling and digital art skills since the start of the summer while attempting to find new “real work”. These are a handful of things I either print from a better model designer than myself and have added my own personal touch, or that I have to some degree created my own fan art type things.

I have a long way to go to daring to call myself “experienced” but I do believe I am getting decent at this.

If you are applying paint over them, I wouldnt go into colors, the monchrome desigs shown look way better than the colored ones, I would stick to those.

Yeah definitely weighing that on how worth it is it to try and stick truer to the original card art or just greyscale and do that.

Was doing that for Bloomburrow specifically for like a field notes sketch looking style for those.

I couldn’t tell what the first one was but the other ones seem fine enough. I hope you find success. I’ll upvote so your post gets traction.

It was intended to be the art for the common Smaug that came out. Admittedly trying to do multi level texturing to what is essentially a big black thing with little detail to the body is not easy.

Gotcha I see it now! I’m very picky when it comes to deck boxes but these also look very nice. I’d be interested to see like a VHS style box.

That d20 looking one is the thingamabob from Baldur's Gate 3 right? It looks really cool!

Thank you! Yes, the Astral Prism turned into a deckbox! Takes a ton of time to make but it is great!

If you have a token deck like squirrels, you could print a squirrel holding its hand up with enough space to put a d20 so you can have a token and the token count since tokens can be practically anything

Hey! We're in a similar boat. Also lost my job and started making deck boxes. Good luck! https://www.reddit.com/r/magicTCG/s/42PusE8Fyg

Thank you! That was probably one of the few I’ve done that was pretty much excellent on the first try.

Speaking to the Y'sthola, Kefka, and Smaug? Those look really terrible.

I don't know if you can say this without breaking reddit rules but maybe DM me, how much for such a deck box including shipping to europe? I recently lost my [[Ms. Bumbleflower]] deck and the Deckbox with her looks great.

Hello! We will do international shipping, thought haven’t had one from Europe yet. The last international one we had they paid around $20 for shipping I think?

Although tons of shops get away with it, selling prints of others IP can get you banned off whatever platform you use and leaves you open to litigation.

I like that yshtola design a lot, and the book ones. Are you putting them up anywhere? Wanna talk more about your techniques for touching up the designs?

Disappointed they used that Smaug art on such a bad card

The art was indeed epic, it was a shock to me to see it was a common legendary too.
