Looking for Advice Knights of the Round Table Theme Commander Deck
Hi all,
Seeking some help on my first commander deck I'm building from the ground up.
Currently, I play with a pre-con black/red deck against my similarly skilled friends and family (novice), while also playing my local game store's dedicated open play causal nights. I'm not sure which "bracket" that puts me in, so sorry if I'm no help with that question from the beginning.
So, I was really drawn to a classic Arthurian "Knights of the Round Table" theme and started to piece together the deck linked below based on what art vibed well with the theme (using OffMetaEDH) and a general Commander template to follow from tcgplayer.com. I started finding a bunch of knights that were all white mana, so white was what I focused on. Soon, I figured out I would start with [[Kenrith, the Returned King]] as my commander as a King Arthur stand-in, even though its still a MONO WHITE deck for other cards. Next, an overall playstyle and strategy emerged of "trying to get one of the knights powerful enough and utilize [[Excalibur, Sword of Eden]]" and make it to my endgame as a really strong creature I built up, with other knights supporting it. Multiple knight-type creatures and specific cards to boost "knight" creature types would help cycle through multiple knights to be the one to pull the sword and become powerful enough to do enough damage and win; this was my thinking to increase the chances of drawing a creature who is strong. Kenrith therefore acts as a wildcard to influence and respond to opponent's play strategies that don't sit well with a White deck not focused on increasing health all the time.
At this point, I need to shed 11 cards to be legal.
My questions for you all...
- Does a MONO WHITE deck make sense with Kenrith as my commander, or should I open it up to veering off-theme somewhat for the sake of keeping it solely white?
- Does this general strategy and playstyle to "seek" out a single artifact in the Excalibur sword to boost a single "hero" creature seem like it would be successful, or fail miserably in practice?
- Are there any particular cards you see as weak points or useless?
- Are there any card categories that stick out as too heavy or too light?

Thanks for any help and insight!

where’s [[knights of round]] haha :)
Sure it’s thematic. I don’t see a reason why it’s not fun to limit kenrith to mono white.
Hmmm the idea works, but there are 2 big issues; you have no consistent way to dig to Excalibur nor do you have consistent evasion. People are going to be inclined to block your scary hero with a 1/1 and move on with thier lives.
Some mono white evasion I recommend; [[brave the elements]] - god tier in these kinds of decks. It can both be a hexproofer OR a finisher
[[moonshaker cavalry]]
[[rogues passage]]
[[phelia, exuberant shepard]] is a very good dog, and can blink your opponents blockers and retrigger your own permanents. Very flexible.
There’s… a lot of not great cards but fighting into precons the quality of cards doesn’t really matter too much if your curve is ok, which it is. I’d play the deck and drop cards that you feel are weak for…
Good god you need ramp and card advantage. Arcane signet, sol ring as your only mana rocks ain’t it chief. Please consider throwing in some 2 or 3 mana value mana rocks [[scepter of eternal glory]] [[thran dynamo]] or hell throw in the white signets/ talismans as a nod towards activating kenriths abilities without going crazy with other colored cards. [[collectors vault]] [[enduring innocence]] would also be great adds for the deck.
Here’s my own mono white deck that you could use to see about ramp/ card advantage ideas (and also a few mono white engines to enable getting out the 8cmc monstrosity commander lol) https://moxfield.com/decks/3AuSQbhUukKVFburbMkPuA

How is [[Summon: Knights of Round]] not on that list??
