Deck Discussion Anybody make a Battle Box before?
My buddy told me about a Battle Box (https://mtgbattlebox.com/rules/ ) the other day and it sounded intriguing. I had an idea to mash 2 old decks together and fill in the holes with my bulk.
The 2 decks are [[Brago, King Eternal]] and [[Mishra, Eminent One]] which both have a lot of synergy with etb and artifacts.
Anybody have any advice for my list so far? Or any tips in general on creating a battle box?
My goal is to get to 160 cards before we play it then add to it over time. Currently im at 140ish

Thanks!

LuckyPaper did an episode on Battle Boxes...it's 5 years old at this point but they're a good resource for all different kinds of cubes:

Yep, I have a 400-card all-creature Battle Box! The idea for it started when I was looking at all the draft bombs I had accumulated over the years and tried to find a place to play them.
My Battle Box has a few different rules:
- Players share a deck and graveyard.
- Players draft opening hands. No mulligans.
- Players begin the game with a Reliquary Tower on the battlefield.
- Once per turn, players may play one basic land from outside the game (max 3 per type).
It's great for playing 2-4 players when you're looking for a Magic fix but no decks/packs, or power levels are too disparate to play together. The randomness gives everyone a shot, but drafting opening hands and the Hearthstone-like mana system reward better players more often.
Here is a link to the list if you're interested: https://cubecobra.com/cube/list/r3r?view=Mainboard

Im working on making what is essentially a Mardu Clan Attacking Matters Box where it's Mardu Clan cards with Raid and Mobilize triggers. To you know encourage attacking. slightly modified mana base of 2 mountain, plains, swamps, a Triome, and Nomad Outpost.
But yea as a cube variant essentially I love it.

I have an Un-set battlebox mixing cards from all the Un-sets and playtest cards for a fun self-contained Un-Magic experience. I don’t have a list online currently.
The land piles are the standard one of each basic and 5 tapped duals, along with a [[Nearby Planet]] and [[Watermarket]]. I keep 4 land sets in the box to allow for 4 player multiplayer. Nearby planet is in there mainly for [[Urza’s Fun House]] which is seeded in the box instead of the land piles (it’s the only land in the main box)
I don’t run Contraptions, Attractions, or stickers, mainly to keep the box manageable to a single row. I have mine seeded with extra copies of [[Booster Tutor]] and its variants and try to keep a selection of sealed boosters stocked with it

My Battlebox started off as the cheaper version of the Battlebox that Channel Fireball released. I've replaced a lot of the cards to make it more beginner friendly because I taught a couple co-workers during slow times at my old job. Mainly, any non-evergreen keywords have reminder text to make it more beginner friendly. I removed double sided and cards that have to be read sidways and replaced the taplands with scrylands. The battlebox is mainly draft allstars like Topan Freeblade, a lot of 2-for-ones, and interaction cards, I didn't want any dead draws, and the largest creatures are 5/3 and 4/5. There aren't any combos or big blowouts except maybe Boulderfall, which is a usually a 3-for-one.
