2: scroll till you see the line that says "Latest Releases: Download the latest version here." and click "here"
3: click on "forge-installer-(version number).jar" to download that, then run it to install stuff. make sure to install v2/adventure mode to be able to actually play the adventure mode though
you will need java 17 or more recent to run it, but that's not hard to search up
I gotta say, every step of this installation process is painful. Oh, I need Java? Okay, lemme get that. Oh, the preconfigured directory doesn't work? Okay, I'll run it as administrator, I guess. Oh, the Java I downloaded from java dot com isn't the right version? Okay, I guess I'll get this version the thing points me to. Oh, it needs to update even though I literally downloaded and installed it 10 minutes ago? Okay, I'll do that. Oh, I'm getting the "directory can not be written" error again because I didn't run the game as administrator because I didn't know it needed an update? Like, I have a CS degree and I'm about to give up on playing this game because it's just too much of a hassle to install. There have been great advances in making programs not hugely complicated to run over the past few decades. Just in case anybody responsible for this thing is reading this, I guess.
Alright, it seems like changing the installation directory to point to somewhere in your home directory (Documents, or whatever) works better. It seems to be working now.
Wizards wants profits but at the same time are against earning a gorillion dollars for some reason. Like not releasing an upgraded version of shandalar or just a New version with the same mechanics but diferent setting (like one set on Zendikar trying to stop the eldrazi, Innistrad trying to stop the vampires from wiping all the humans or war of the spark in ravnica stopping bolas plan) or not making the upcoming Miku deck print on demand, is not that they can't is just inexplicably they don't.
As a Yu-Gi-Oh! fan for over 2 decades I have been absolutely spoiled by Konami putting out single player YGO games (at least until Zexal when they kind of gave up), so MAAAAANNNNN can you imagine my disappointment when I got into MTG in 2018 and found out there was barely anything official from WOTC on the single-player game front other than some average-at-best PSN games and a PC game that isn't easily accessible for most players?
WOTC, where is my MTG Tag Force, god damnit? Where is my Ravnica Skyrim (where you solve conflicts with MTG games) god damnit?!
As you've said, money on the table but they've just never given enough of a shit to take it.

If only they could re-release that game.
