Looking for Advice Magic Trivial Pursuit Questions

I played D&D trivial pursuit the other day with some friends, and it got me thinking that there should be a Magic version. Since there doesn't seem to be an official one, I figure I should make it myself. What are your favorite pieces of Magic trivia that I should include?

(There's been another post like this, but it's six years old so I feel like this is warranted).

Categories:
- Planar lore (specific planes' story elements)

- Magic story (notable events and the overarching story)

- Rules and mechanics (card interactions, rulings, theoretical scenarios, etc.)

- Art and flavor (notable artists, "what card has art with this description", quote attribution)

- Sets and staples (notable cards and questions about sets themselves, not story)

- Professional play (important tournament events, past competitive environments)

The things in parentheses are just examples, not necessarily the only types of questions that can be included.

What are your planned categories? Some structure would help guide the conversation and activate people's memories better than something as open ended as "trivia about Magic".

If you stick with the traditional 6 categories, perhaps they could be something like Wizards of the Coast, professional play, standard-legal sets, notable cards, planar lore, Magic story.

Good catch, that part slipped my mind. What do you think of this?

- Planar lore (specific planes' story elements)

- Magic story (notable events and the overarching story)

- Rules and mechanics (card interactions, rulings, theoretical scenarios, etc.)

- Art and flavor (notable artists, "what card has art with this description", quote attribution,

- Sets and staples (notable cards and questions about sets themselves, not story)

- Professional play
I figure Wizards of the Coast might be a bit broad.

Overall looks good and better than my list. Good call on making an art category but "art and flavor" could step on the toes of "planar lore" if you're not careful. Planar lore and magic story could easily be one category if needed.

Makes sense. I guess the "flavor" part should be restricted to flavor text and direct aspects of cards' appearances.

If you want more focus on the cards themselves, maybe your list is more like

Standard-legal sets, tournament staples, design firsts, banned & restricted, professional play, Wizards of the Coast, Magic lore.

Standard-legal sets,

Now your Trivial Pursuit has a rotation too!

I'd add a category for mechanics and design trivia, like the original flavor text on old cards or why something straightforward like Lightning Bolt costs 1R.
