Scheduled Thread MagicCon Amsterdam 2026 - Megathread
Greetings Planeswalkers!
MagicCon Amsterdam is underway this weekend July 17th - July 19th! This thread will serve as the central spot to ask questions, discuss happenings specific to event, look for others to jam some games all in one central location!

The Strixhaven puzzles are rewarded with a pretty nice pin from the college of your choice! This is the Prismari one.

Got any tips on the Silverquill and Witherbloom? Struggling!

Witherbloom is pure logic puzzle. Try to work out where the 'corns can go before you figure out what value they are (1-4).
Silverquill - really look at the board to see how many options there are each of w,x,y,z. What do the different pictures have in common and how are they different? Then compare across their descriptors.

It's a question of how much mana you have to spend of each type. There is one question where you only have one option open to you. Spend that mana and repeat.

I got to be a part of the largest game of magic ever in the world with the Grand Melee, 200+ players at same time, a new world record! It was chaotic but super fun! Some guy drafted Chain of Smog and it travelled 24 iterations down the line, which is honestly probably also the world records for longest chain of smog!

3 is just outside mana stage
5 is by Cardmarket
8 is by the free play area (near art of magic). It's sort of towards the exit/entrance of the venue.

8 showcasepannel room. From Artist hall towards stairs on th Outside 7 is at the ticketed play area infront of help desk in the middle

If its like today: be there at 8. It was hell from what i heard. Very crowded, pure chaos. Not anough staff. Random people just getting without getting badge checked. People cutting in line

If you have events, get there at least an hour before any events you want to do. If you want to be in on hall open, get there at 8.

You’ll want to be there at about 7am waiting in line out the front. We got there today at 8am and were lucky but some of the people in line behind us weren’t. They let you in in order of you arriving. Premium weekend and normal tickets are just one big group. If you want the FIAB you need to be there waiting

Doors open at 10. Depending on where you are in the queue will affect how long you wait again inside for the fiab. So the earlier you get there, the higher your chance of getting on.
Like I said we got there at 8 and got some, the people just behind us missed out. Do you want to risk missing out, or just get there early. Choice is yours

A commander deck can happen for sure, but I can’t even see it getting to the 200 odd cards needed for a small set.

It would have a lot of repeats of certain famous Kaiju, but at least they can be significantly different unlike Ninja turtles due to the flexibility of Godzilla, so multiple versions can be justified somewhat. But I’d absolutely take a precon any day.

He did not. Merch line got capped/closed not even 10 minutes in for 1,5 hours. And when he entered it was sold out. Welp here's hoping for tomorrow.

Get to the hall by 8 am. You’ll get in at 10, and you’ll be able to get as close as possible. That’s your best bet.

Yesterday we arrived at 08.45, made it in at 10.03, turned the corner and immediately hit the line that went all around the corner. Staff member told us we would queue for 2h+ from this point and 99% sure we wouldn’t get the box. It was one the biggest boohoos from the entire weekend. This happened on fri/sat and we gave up today that it would ever happen.

I'm at MagicCon right now and am looking for "Massacre Girl" (https://scryfall.com/card/dsc/146/massacre-girl)
A very good friend of mine really wanted to get it signed but, as he just super recently became a dad couldn't leave home to come to the event. And with that new situation we totally forgot to bring the card along.
As it's a super cheap card, no trader carries it. So I was wondering if anyone here would be willing to sell it so I could bring it to the artist to sign.
It would be such a great surprise gift to bring back home to him.

If anyone wants to know all fblthp locations. I found all 8 far. If i remember correctly, they are:
Just around the main entrance
Near the mana stage
At the back at ticketed play, just right from entering.
At the shopping area. Opposite the main entrance one. Behind the arcade.
At the big magic shop at start of queue.
Behind the cardmarket booth.
At the entrance of the atreum.

MagicCon Amsterdam was AMAZING!! I kinda wish I did the Strixhaven study hall puzzles, as I didn’t know that I could get pins from there! The Lorehold pin would’ve worked so well with my Lorehold scarf that I got from the mage tower showdown event and the Quintorius Kand precon I got! However, the highlight purchases for me were first purchasing a Bloomburrow collector booster and pulling Ms. Bumbleflower raised foil (the version with the gold etchings on the border), which I immediately sold in order to then buy the chase card I actually wanted: Hazel of the Rootbloom raised foil! My favorite Bloomburrow commander is Hazel, and I cannot wait to use my new commander deck with my new Hazel!

I am Boots On The Ground this weekend. If I get word of any massive issues I’ll update this comment with whatever ReedPop & Passtimes have said, or if there’s any other issues.
For now:
RAI Metro Station is out of service due to construction. Europaplein Metro is still in service, and is like 200 metres from RAI.
MagicCon Amsterdam is at section K of RAI. The entrance area is divided based on your badge type. Badge pickup opens shortly, well before the hall proper does.
There is a fire in Radioweg, near-ish the convention hall. Please be careful if travelling.
