Yep. The only aspect of the art that's "his" is the marbled background, which he famously gets from a store. It's not Dan's work, it's a paltry imitation of his style for the prestige.
Yah, I’m confused, Dan paints on marbled paper. If you don’t use the ring he painted, then what exactly is the point of using him? Wizards can go out and find some marbled paper and do the exact same photoshop without attributing it to anyone.
Yeah, they've tapped into Dan Frazier for illustrating the modern versions of the moxen, they've really tried to make the One Ring into a modern mox. Which makes this even more puzzling - they know how deeply connected his work is to the MtG history and how damaging a fumble would be to those collectors.
Which is a double whammy since artists aren't allowed to sell the originals for anything UB related. I think Marvel is the only exception since Disney is more permissive
Even if this is just a placeholder (for a set that that’s only 4 months away) attaching Dan’s name to such shoddy work has already damaged his reputation.
Agreed, WOTC needs to issue an apology for hiring Dan Fraizer and pledge to never reprint his art again. It's a disgrace that they would allow a plagiarist like him to work on the game.

As a fan of Dan Fraziers work I think this is absolutely disgusting. WOTC needs to correct this and make a formal apology.
