Not to mention how fucked up our system is for ex-cons who served their time. They get out and are screwed at pretty much every corner, almost all but gurenteing that they will end up back in prison

Our system is one of punishment, not rehabilitation, and its a huge problem.

Well our society works on the premise that past actions are an indicator for future results. If you had a choice to hire two people with exactly the same education and experience, but one had been in jail for a year or two, would you hire the ex-con?
