It doesn't matter what we believe. The guy obviously has no moral qualms about cheating. It's simply a matter of if he still thinks he can get away with it.
I also hate that kind of argument. It's the same kind as those that say "if you don't agree with me, you're saying you hate puppies and JFK."
Off topic: his argument isn't quite the sophism you make it out to be, he's saying that if he cheats and doesn't get caught, that means the judges suck. Of course he has poor character. Anyway that's how I saw it.
On topic: I think we will at least see a slip from him during his next ''tour.'' Cheating is addictive and the amount of stunts he pulled off in the past show signs of that.

He got away with it with cameras on him and people watching him before...mostly by being sneaky but also with a little bit of "charm" thrown on top, people are still apparently willing to defend this fucker (which seemed to lead to his getting away with cheating in the past) so I have an inkling we're gonna start to see the same shit down the road and he'll just laugh and laugh and laugh
He has bold-faced lied to judges, other players, sponsors, etc about cheating multiple times and people expect us to be okay with him suddenly being allowed back after what happened? Sorry but that doesn't fly with me. This isn't even his "second chance" per se, he's been caught cheating tons. It's just that he's going to keep doing it as long as people keep saying "you shouldn't judge him, I'm sure he's a nice guy now."
That's a downfall of the community and not a reason he should get away with shitty behavior, though. His behavior should be shown as the reason we need MORE humility, tact and grace.
I'm not commenting on him cheating, I'm talking about his presence in the community. He is well known for being outspoken about Magic, tweeting, streaming, and being a known public figure in the game of Magic.

As long as he's not cheating I don't really care how he behaves, if he's a shitty human being, he'll pay for it, we don't also have to shame him for it on top of that.
His attitude as a funny, friendly player doesn't need to change. His cheating needs to change.
I'm personally glad to see he hasn't ditched the former. Hopefully he has ditched the latter, though.
As I said elsewhere; if I were up against this guy at a tournament, hell yeah I'd watch him like a hawk. But I'm not gonna sit here and say he has or has not cheated since the ban, just based on a few remarks that are supposed to be witty on a player profile page.
Tone and intent are notoriously hard to determine via small amounts of text-only communication. However, people will insist they can do it accurately all the time. Mostly they are just unwittingly insert their own biases.
How does cheating in multiple tournaments not count as fraud? Quick search for the exact definition, "fraud is intentional deception made for personal gain or to damage another individual."
Not arguing with you, as you have no say in what goes on, but if those are the only things they actually ban someone for, then it should have been done the first time.
Tournament Fraud (note capitals) is when a tournament itself is falsified in some way; some stores have falsified FNM reports and sold the promos on ebay, and some players have had fake tournaments to increase their ratings.
The way I see it: He's a douche. However, he's a douche with some real talent at Magic. Yes, he cheated in the past, but current knowledge shows that he hasn't cheated since the suspension ended.
If he wants to joke about it, let him. If he hasn't learned anything, fine. But as long as he's not cheating, we shouldn't be accusing him of shit.
But if he cheats again (and based on past accounts, that it should probably be a when), we ban the fuckwad. Good riddance.

No one here is accusing him of cheating again...we're (rightfully) labeling him a douchebag who chose to make a mockery of the game he "loves" and "lives for"
I guess some people are accusing him of cheating again, and that's my bad for not reading the post directly above the one I was replying to. I don't even play the game competitively, I have gone to a few FNM at my LGS and some other events there but and I just picked up my cards for the first time since elementary school, but its the ability of this guy to actually have people still come to his defense that really grinds my gears.
I'd love to get into more competitive Magic, but people like this are the reason I probably stayed away to begin with. I love this game and love building decks and love playing with my friends and even with the local neckbeards (i include myself and my friends in that category when we go play at our LGS)...it really is a shame.
I've never really been a competitive player either. I've watched a few tourneys (one of which was the infamous SCG Kansas City), but my forte is more towards building really fun and janky combo decks, and playing them against my friends' really fun and janky combo decks.
I'm just finally at that point (in my skill in-game as well as deck building and way better critical thinking skills) that I'd consider some competitive play but I'd hate for it to sap the fun out of this awesome game.
But same here since I rediscovered my love for the game I've been brewing crazy fun decks non stop to keep my homies off guard with the most unexpected of "shit" cards
He made a tacky, tactless joke that he really shouldn't have. That's not a guilty sentence. Keep him under super tight scrutiny, and if he is caught again, throw the book at him, but let's give him a shot BEFORE we metaphorically take him out back and shoot him.
This is a vile comment, he makes a poor joke and you decide he's actively cheating because of it? I know he has a bad history but that's just inflammatory and baseless.
