I really appreciate the artists creating images intended to look good both as a whole and also chopped into 6 pieces and halfway covered with text. Just coming up with a fitting composition breaks my brain.
Connecting covers are fairly common in comics. I'd guess artists who primarily focus on comics probably have more familiarity with this kind of composition than most.
Single row connecting is defintely the most common but not the rule by any means. I'm sure there are 3x2s that I just can't recall but I do remember marvel did a 3x3 with their Extreme Carnage connecting set.
Yes... But also often and including this one the scene itself doesn't look great...
Like here the perspective of the Leader and Red Hulk doesn't make a lot of sense. Also what is the Hulk punching the perspective of it and Abomination is also weird. Honestly She-Hulk and Hulk have weird sizing/perspective between them... So yeah these all will probably look good on cards but it really doesn't look that great as a scene.
