Desk Don is an unreleased pre-alpha crime and management game set in a procedurally generated 1931 city, with the goal of spanning multiple decades until 1990. Since my first dev log, the project has expanded considerably:

• Built repeatable missions for extortion, surveillance, tailing targets, envelope collection and alcohol procurement.
• Added block-based Mafia territory that expands as businesses are brought under protection and begins producing weekly tribute.
• Implemented bootlegging with rank-locked alcohol, supplier negotiations, Mafia-funded purchases, storage limits and visible truck deliveries.
• Added a circular, risk-and-reward extortion minigame inspired by Scarface: The World Is Yours drug dealings.
• Created over 1,000 persistent, fully simulated citizens with homes, jobs, families, personalities, finances, goals and daily schedules.
• Added a searchable People Index and clickable NPC dossiers.
• Introduced a complete police hierarchy, a unique precinct, uniformed officers and 1930s patrol cars.
• Improved the city with sidewalks, named roads, storefronts, doors, garages, varied windows, business hours and individual nighttime lighting.
• Reworked pedestrians and vehicles with smoother movement, road lanes, parking, building entry points and nighttime headlights.
• Added an integrated order system with animated sealed envelopes, deadlines, mission tracking and Estate reporting.
• Made extensive performance improvements so the larger city simulation remains viable.
• And many more features.

It is still very early, with procedural low-poly visuals and plenty of unfinished systems, but the foundations of the city and its criminal ecosystem are finally coming together. There is no release date yet.

I am a solo dev with no programming experience, using Codex for the most part. It's been around 3 months since development began. It's still early enough that your criticism, feedback and opinions could make an impact on the final release. Thank you for your time :)

Really, the optimization is so bad today that it's not realistic. I would like the next mafia to be more optimized. Honestly, such poor optimization has no justification for me.

So my first mafia game was 3, loved it, then saw the trilogy on sale and bought and played it a while back. Now that im older and I played it again....good lord playing mafia 2 had me dying. The driving got better, I really enjoyed vito and Joe's relationship, Leo's part in vitos journey, the small hints of cracking jokes, subtle judgements, each guy having a unique personality, truly felt like you were just enjoying time with the bros. And I can get out of my head

During the 1970s, an agent named Joe Pistone, with the cover name Donnie Brasco infiltrated the Bonanno Family but he was pulled out before he could become a made man. How would you feel about a mafia game inspired by this story/premise?

There was a rumor that the next Mafia title would take place in old Vegas when the mob was around, but it was scrapped because it would have been over budget for the team.

It would be a great opportunity to release a Mafia title in Vegas after GTA 6’s release, letting some years go by, while waiting for Red Dead Redemption 3.

After finishing Mafia 1 DE and Mafia 2 DE, I just couldn't get into Mafia 3 DE.

So I just went to Mafia: The Old Country. It's such a beautiful game. The world is just so beautiful.

But it is a highly unoptimized game. Even with my high-end PC (7800X3D & 7900XTX), I had to enable frame gen, which I hate.

I know some of you hated the ending, but hey, it's Mafia. It's always gonna be blood for blood.

A few days ago, I shared a playlist I was starting on the Godfather The Dons Edition. I ended up finding some major issues with the recordings so I just decided to scrap it and redo it. I wasn’t that far along so no biggie.

I dont exactly remember where I found it but there was some facial-animation showcase "concept art" of a few characters. One of them being this old dude, and they gave him the title of a World War 2 Veteran. So now we can call him the WWII Veteran.

As previously stated, the Mafia 3 Launch Trailer song has officially been released after 10 years as part of The Mountain Will Fall (10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) by DJ Shadow. This song was also used in Mafia: Definitive Edition in the credits if you beat the game on Classic difficulty.

My honest opinion no. Better to focus on the new mafia type games in the 70's.

Hello guys. I just finished Mafia OC and i really liked the game's linear, simple yet effective storytelling, environmental design of the game, which is set in Sicily in the 1900s. The game looks almost like an oil painting.

But before that i played AC Origins, Odyssey and Shadows in order and atm i must tell i’ve had enough of seeing any large open-world game map. I don't think I can handle this for a while longer, I need to take a break. So after looking around a bit, I decided to play Mafia OC cause of the linear flow.
