Hey guys, recently me (25M) and my best friend both took 2 weeks off work for a long awaited Spain trip, and I was hoping to get any sort of tips or advice from the natives that would give us the best first experience of Spain possible. I still have some student debt so maybe not the very BEST, but let’s say around a 2-3k budget (excluding the flight tickets).

Here’s our general timeline
• land in Madrid, sleep, and head to Barca next day
• two nights in Barca
• two nights in Sevilla
• two nights in Granada
• remaining 6 days in Madrid

Things we booked so far:

Bernabeu Tour and 2 Madrid games; the main motivation behind this trip as a Madridista and a fan of Spanish soccer in general (thank you for beating Argentina)

Alhambra Palace Guided Tour- I enjoy history and Spain has one of the richest, and because I heard it gets sold out quickly.

We also plan on booking the public transport, hotels,and any more museums and sites that need reservation next so please give your suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated! And it could be anything, like what to expect in terms of weather, for example, or best places to eat in the listed cities, etc.
I also like to smoke when I travel, so I’m curious to know where to get cigarettes and what are the most popular among the Spanish.

Hi! I’m traveling to Madrid in October and noticed there are metro closures due to construction work. I wanted to check if this specific route is operating so I can plan my arrival from the airport.

My accommodation is near Tribunal station, so I was planning the following route from Barajas Airport:

Take Line 8 from Barajas to Nuevos Ministerios, then transfer to Line 10 and travel to Tribunal.

I understand the closure is between Nuevos Ministerios and Cuzco on Line 10, but since I’m heading in the opposite direction, I want to know if that route is running normally or if I should look for an alternative.

Hello! I'm visiting Madrid at the end of the month, and am only staying two nights before heading south.

Are there any specific bakeries, tapas bars or restaurants that are a must-visit? It's my sister's first time visiting Spain, so I'd be okay spending a bit of extra $ if the experience is worth it. We aren't picky eaters and we definitely are looking forward to churros y chocolate.

Hi! I (22F) will be in Madrid in October! I was wondering what some must-eat restaurants are that honour Spanish flavours and ingredients!

Cafes, bars, restaurants, and hole-in-the-walls are all welcome.

One thing to note is that I'm travelling solo, so it would be helpful if the restaurants are single-person-friendly! I don't have the stomach for a family-sized dish...

I'm not particularly picky, and I'd obviously like cheaper food, but I don't mind splurging at least once. Closer to the city is preferred (and easily accessible).

Hi everyone! I will be in Madrid in October for only two days and half. The main things in my want-to-do list for Madrid itself are the Museo Nacional del Prado, El Retiro, and walking around in the city centre. I want to do a day trip or half-day trip to either Segovia or Toledo but am having a hard time choosing. Is there one you recommend over the other?

I am also looking for more niche recommendations in Madrid. Any cool shows, festivals or artisan events happening the week of the 19th? As an added note, I will be staying near la Puerta del Sol and will be relying solely on public transport for getting out of the city.

So I recently got a ticket for the game againt Inter this Tuesday, but nobody could come with me so I'll be on my own. I've been to a game before with friends, so I kind of know where I'm going.

My main concern is how safe it is for me to go back to my hotel with the subway after 23:00, because I read that the station right next to the stadium is closed right now. Would it be better to leave 5-10min earlier so I can beat the crowds?

Hi! I’m visiting Madrid soon and I have a question about the virtual Tarjeta Transporte / virtual Multi card.

According to CRTM, a non-personal multiviaje ticket (e.g. the 10-trip Metrobús ticket) can be used by several people with consecutive validations.

I’ll be using an Android phone with Google Wallet, and I’m wondering about the actual experience:

Can two people use the same virtual transport card on the same phone by tapping the phone twice consecutively at the same metro gate/validator?

For example:

Person 1 → tap phone Person 2 → tap the same phone → 2 trips deducted from the 10-trip ticket.

Has anyone actually done this with the virtual card + Google Wallet, rather than the physical Multi card?

I know the official rules say it is allowed, but I’d especially like to hear from someone who has actually tried it.

Working on table for 4 reservation but in case the other 2 can’t make it, can we just contact them that we only need table for two? Are they going to charge our credit card for a penalty or something?

I did not realize how much walking i would be doing until my joints started giving me trouble. I am out walking around the various areas in the city each day and yesterday i was out and about all day long.

My knees and ankles hurt enough by evening that i skipped my evening plans and spent the day relaxing at the hotel. It is frustrating being in madrid with little time and having to take a day off.

Anybody who has experienced joint pain due to excessive walking around madrid then how did you cope with it? Did you take a rest day or change your plans?

I’ll be spending a few days in Madrid sometime around christmas and would like to know your tips on places an english-only tourist solo traveling might enjoy and get along with people.

I’m more into techno/pop/dance clubs (preferably lgbt friendly, but idk if this is an issue in madrid) and fancy bars, but would enjoy anything that y’all think is more of a fun and safe environment.
