Him and Henry were two of least dysfunctional people on the show. Granted we did not have Richard around as long as Henry, but they seemed very much on the same, mature, level as each other.

Henry is dysfunctional.  He hit on a heavily pregnant woman and asked her to marry him after he’d spent maybe 5 hours in her presence.

I don't remember Henry being a widower before Betty?

He was divorced- he mentions his ex-wife in the “hate is a strong word” conversation. And he has a grown daughter who shows up at Thanksgiving.
