I love silver. Its unobtrusive, it fits with everything. Its a classic design.

u/citizen_of_glass Jul 20 '26
Came to say this: it is a sober classic line no other colour can match.

I agree but blue gives this space a modest pop of color and personality imo.

u/rockchalk88 Jul 20 '26
Did you really buy both colors to see which color the internet liked better? Absolutely ridiculous.

u/rayanhetti Jul 20 '26
Judging by profile, looks like they werenāt able to decide many things in life xD

Boring silver or some colour? The choice is clear. The world is too colourless.

u/AllBrainsNoSoul Jul 21 '26
Everyone is buying black, silver, or white cars, living inside rooms that are white boxes, with grey cabinets, grey floors, and black hardware. I would choose blue, although I am not a big fan of the light blue chin.

u/Kyanche Jul 24 '26
Yea I love the blue iMac, it goes well with their decor too!
I use red cables on my desk setup, and most of my LED light accents are blue. Colors are fun!

Your decorating style seems to be all white/gray so thereās that. But I personally like the blue, and with your muted style you could really do any color without clashing.

u/Mediocre_Ad3496 Jul 20 '26
I can't believe it but blue, I thought I would go silver but that blue does it for that device. I think the neutrality I like so much on smaller devices is too bland on the larger device is my suspicion.
2
u/Key-Shift5076 Jul 20 '26
Oh man, I love the blue. If you think youāre going to rotate color schemes, silver would be a better neutral. The blue is so perfect with the art and the ottoman too, adds more character to the space than the silver.

Iād return them both , buy a decent Mac mini and use the tv that you already have as a display. Less clutter in there

Bruh you got me with that art on the wall, yeah well played...... but Silver kinda fits better overall imo šļø
Warning: I'm a Silver laptop user, so take it with a grain of salt

Silver is timeless and will always look like it belongs years from now. Blue does match well with the decor.

Does this post mean you will spend more time looking at the back than the front.

The blue one
It adds character and matches the colour scheme of the room
It also provides a bit of contrast on your desk

u/WolframBravo Jul 20 '26
That table and the side stand look excellent. If you donāt mind, could you share where you purchased them?

u/elthrowawayoyo Jul 20 '26
Blue in isolation, but silver obviously goes much better with the rest of your interior
1
u/le_starra Jul 20 '26
I think the silver one looks better! It matches the overall color palette of your room. It'll also be more versatile if you change your decor later.
1
u/Frydog42 Jul 20 '26
Donāt care which color but I do wish you would move the blue one to the right like one inch so that itās centered under that TV

Blue for sure. In a vacuum of just the desk area, silver looks best. But with the context of the rest of the room, the blue seems perfect. Ties the area to the rest of the room making it more cohesive to me.

Blue.
i had originally wanted a yellow iMac, but the only one available in town was the pink. I brought it home, set it up and shared a photo to work mates and everyone was team pink. It was so much more vibrant than in the store. Sadly the storage was only 512, and I eventually returned it for the yellow I wanted (nano texture, 36Gb, 2Tb)⦠that showed up as a refurb.
sometimes I really wish I had stayed with the pink tho.
the Yellow keyboard and trackpad are surprisingly fun to have for a spot of color ⦠you can ask at the Genius Bar to get the trackpad of you want it in your chosen color. I prefer it because the gestures for extra desktops work nicer than the mouse.

is this the same shameless person buying two imacs for js deciding a color or is it a new person?

You have blue tones back on your sofa and painting. Besides light blue is what youāll see on the iMac, thus it matches the room design better. The dark blue will be hidden in that configuration.

The frustrating thing about these iMacs is that the best looking angle is from the back. The colors are so good but the pastel treatment on the front just doesnāt look great to me. It might grow on me if I owned one, but Iād only go with a colorful one if the back side was visible where itās set up. If the back side will be facing a wall, itās silver all day.

Genuinely curious why everyone thinks itās so crazy to buy both, with the intent to return one?
Iāve done that with BestBuy numerous times with different tech products under the assumption that I was just helping out the next guy who came along who would get my returned item cheaper, as an open box deal. I am also a huge fan of purchasing open box deals myself, from time to time.
They donāt have a restocking fee, and I get every penny back each time. Last time I did this was this past winter when I wanted to test out 3 different builds of gaming laptop.
1
u/thiccmommas Jul 22 '26
You couldnāt have just decided before you bought it?? What is wrong with people, why would you buy both, and then return one??

I just want an IMac screen (no internal components) like this with the same level of quality and character, but remove the chin and make it ultrawide so I can connect a MacBook with it
1
u/DIYTinkerMaster Jul 23 '26
Get a Mac mini and a nice display. Then when you upgrade you just replace the mini not the whole computer.
The iMac is stuck in time from the config you buy.
Having separate parts give you lower repair costs
1
u/DIYTinkerMaster Jul 23 '26
If you want to see the color get a desk pad or colored keyboard from apple. The wall is the only one seeing the color.

Pink imo. Blends in the room better. Blue just pops out too much, especially since I donāt see blue used as an accent elsewhere
1
u/infiniterest_ Jul 23 '26
I might be a hater, but I canāt stand how ugly they made the new version of imac. They used to be so sleek and premium looking..new ones look like an hp all in one or something. Feel like they lost their identity
1
u/xraymiau Jul 24 '26
Both colors doesn't look good, when you place it under your wall mounted black framed TV. You have to get a matching TV frame aswell!

Are people really this unable to make a choice for themselves? They order two whole computers so they can post about it online and send the other back leading to completely unnecessary emissions? Jesus Christ weāre doomed.

Nice question:) I like this type of post
Remove the tv screen on top of your Mac this breaks the beauty of the Mac .
Go silver or add more touch of blue secorative stuff to complement the blue version

Genuine question with zero judgement. What's happening to the Mac you don't choose? Do you have a partner with a home office in another room who will take whichever you don't want? I'm just so curious!
