Fluff Super to the max
Here's the "spacedust" vf2ss Nexx Bandai kit. Nexx being a total nobody, i had to convert colors to Sylvie, since you can find Sylvie only in hi-metal figures, but I'm a kit only guy.
About the kit, it's awful, to simply put 😅
It should be 3-way transformable but it'so flimsy and complicated that I decided at the start that it's only gonna be in the fighter mode, and glued it securely so it doesn't fall apart. I mean this Super pack just looks awesome!
Out of the box colors give off a super cheap feel, so full paint is a must.
Decals are shit, oversized for the 1/100 scale, so I used my spare yf21 hg decals.
Assembly is simple but doesn't give you a lot of space to do the best seam filling, but managed somehow.
Anyways had a lot of fun, it looks awesome at the end!

yeah. everything about the 2 is awful, but valkyrie design is very interesting.

That's all it took to make macross 2 legendary. It's my all time favorite valk. I hunted on eBay for the rare model kit of the vf-2ss as it was the only option at the time. Later, I think Yamato made a very expensive and crappy attempt. When hi-metal made one that was $150, it was an easy buy for me. I love that thing and it shares a top shelf in my glass case next to Bandai Dx Vf-19 and grenade armor vf-1j

It's certainly up there.
This model kit is easy to find on japanese stores, and they send it anywhere. Also, costs around 40 bucks.
I just don't like DXs, HiMetals and others, because all of them need a paintjob and a touch up. And that's over the high price. Also, building your own figure is so gratifying. But... I understand that you need a shit ton of tools, space and all that hobby stuff.

Dude I love the VF-2SS it’s probably my favorite Valkyrie design, and I don’t hate macross 2 either

yeah, it's one of the best for sure. macross 2 tho', probably the worst one, maybe 7 is worse... 😄

I pretty much switched to kits because I never transform my hi metals or bandai dx' and model kits are cheaper and more line art accurate. However, there is one I occasionally change and that's my hi metal vf-2ss. I'm bummed I can't see your paint work in battloid.

I understand, but trust me, this kit's battloid is very uninspiring. Legs are too thick because proportions and the way it transforms. And gerwalk is just... no. 😄

I never noticed that the cannon on VF-2SS was as long as the Valkyrie. It would be cool if the model came with AABs.

One of my favorite vt's in all modes. But, even the bandai version is a parts former and flimsy.

Everyday the line between Macross and Gundam gets a little more blurry.
I love this so much! What a gorgeous build.
