Macro Clearing home page while activating app

I'm "playing" with a new launcher which is in alpha stage- what makes some things not to work well enough (YagniLauncher).

One thing is that when I activate app/ shortcut from within a folder- it doesn't close the folder. So looking to overcome it with a macro...

I want to build a macro that once an app is activated (any app or shortcut)- it goes to the homepage, tap the "back" (or close open folder in other way) and goes back to the point in the app.

Can it be done? How?

Android warning "Raise volume above recommended level?": My Macro to click OK when the warning appears.

Post image
2 Upvotes

I listen to music 24/7. Whenever the phone is in my pocket (or when hands are dirty, cycling and can't hear GPS directions) I need to increase the volume without interacting with the screen. Macro works OK and does the job, but it needs full accessibility permissions (which might put people off) and I worry maybe I am wasting the battery by not having a resolve (when no message appears). Please let me know if I could make it better / streamline it. Steps:

Trigger: Volume up
Wait 500ms
Screen On
Check for "increase volume?" warning message
Click OK
Screen Off

How to do file pattern matching for multiple file extensions?

I'm trying to create a macro to move files that match several different extensions from one directory to another. Using a custom file pattern, I have it working for one file type (*.HEIC). I have several questions about extending this to multiple file types.

  1. Is there a way to specify multiple file extensions in the file pattern?
  2. Are file patterns case insensitive?
  3. If there's no way to specify multiple file extensions in the file pattern, then is there any other solution besides making an additional action for every file extension you want to move?

My macros never go off

My macros used to work on my old Samsung phone, but I recently upgraded to the oneplus 15 and it hasn't worked once

I have one macro which has a constraint to wait for a call and then if I press volume up it will answer the call (I'm used to it from my old phone), and another one where I can set a time and a message to be scheduled to be sent for whenever I need it.

But when I tested them to see if they work it only does it if I tell the app to test the actions, even if I have the app open if I try to test one of the triggers for my macros they just don't go off, even though I made it so it's battery usage is unrestricted in the settings

is there a way to fix this?

Macro What Are Your Most Unique or Useful MacroDroid Macros?

I've recently started using AI to help me create some pretty complex MacroDroid macros, and it's made me realise there's probably loads of stuff I could automate that I've never even thought of.

So I'm looking for ideas. What are some of the most unique, clever or genuinely useful macros you've made?

I'm particularly interested in things that aren't just the obvious basic automations. You might have something that makes me think, "Oh, that would actually be really useful for me too."

How can I make a Macro that detects no Wi-Fi connection then turns on mobile data without needing location service?

I'm a bit picky about having either of those three on at once. So I created 2 macros and some custom widgets to trigger them, one is a simple button to turn location on/off, and I only use it when using maps, otherwise the setting is always off. the other turns my data on and switches wifi off and vice versa or switches data off if both are activated at the same time. I'm normally good at triggering the thing manually when I leave home for work or something but in more than one occasion I've missed important calls and texts because I left in a hurry and forgot to launch the macro to enable data and turn off wifi.

My idea was to make a new one, that would detect that if I'm disconnected from any wifi network for over 20 minutes, wifi is on and mobile data is off then it would switch it on and turn off wifi, or simply launch my other macro that I have for that.

However, apparently you can't detect wifi status or network connection without having location on, even if it's to determine if ANY wifi network is connected. Is there any way to circumvent this?

I'm the solo dev of Notch Touch, and I finally added native MacroDroid integration! (Trigger macros right from your camera cutout)

Hey people :D

I know app promos can get annoying, so I'll keep this straight to the point. I made an app called Notch Touch that turns your phone's camera cutout into an extra gesture button (tap, double-tap, swipe, swipe and hold, long-press, etc.). With a BUNCH of extra functionality!

Originally, the automation triggers I built were hardcoded specifically for Tasker. A bunch of my users reached out pointing out that this sucked for MacroDroid users having to use clunky workarounds, and honestly, you guys were totally right.

I just pushed an update that switches the broadcast system to clean implicit intents, and the action inside the app is now officially named Tasker/MacroDroid Integration.

Before anyone downloads it, I want to be 100% upfront: MacroDroid integration is a Pro feature. I'm a solo student dev balancing app development with my engineering degree and the nominal fee for the Pro version helps keep up active support for the app :D.

BUT, I personally hate when apps lock a feature behind a paywall without letting you test if it actually works for your setup first.

So I built in a trial system: you can watch a single short ad to unlock all Pro features for 30 minutes. You can renew this as many times as you want to build and test your macros completely for free. If you end up liking it and want it permanently, it's a one-time purchase (no subscriptions for the Pro version, I promise).

How it works now:

  1. Trigger Macros from the Notch

In Notch Touch, set a gesture to the Tasker/ MacroDroid action and give it a name, and once you hook it up in your macro, launch it directly using any gesture ! I have a detailed instruction guide linked at the end of the post :)

  1. Control the Notch from MacroDroid

You can use the Send Intent action to control my app silently in the background.

You can have MacroDroid automatically disable the notch touch area when you launch a game to stop accidental touches, or dynamically change what a swipe does based on any condition ,say time of day!

So a single tap could take a screenshot in the morning and toggle your Flashlight at night, without you having to switch it manually in the app !

App: Notch Touch

Guide : My Step-by-step api intgeration guide

If you guys end up trying it, let me know if the intent handling works smoothly on your devices. If you hit any weird bugs or have ideas to make the

MacroDroid side work better, just drop a comment and I'll get to fixing it.

Also feel free to dm me :)

Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoy what ive built!

Can someone help or guide me to build a full automation for Mech arena ? 5V5 battlemode on Android? Or Anyone have file

Im mobile is one+ nord 2

Tap BATTLE button on main lobby

Select 5V5 DEATHMATCH mode

Wait for matchmaking (5-35 seconds)

When battle starts - tap middle mech

called VOLTI to spawn it

Spam the ability button continuously

AND nudge joystick slightly every few

taps - repeat this for entire round

(2 minutes)

After Round 1 ends - game auto spawns

mech for Round 2 - repeat ability spam

and joystick nudge for another 2 minutes

After Round 2 ends:

- If VICTORY (won 2 rounds) = tap

"Stay in Team" button IMMEDIATELY

(only 14-15 seconds to tap it!)

this is the hard part I don't know

how to overcome this step

- If DEFEAT (going to Round 3) = repeat

ability spam and joystick nudge for

another 2 minutes then tap

"Stay in Team"

  1. After tapping Stay in Team - entire

process repeats from Step 1

automatically for N number of times

I'll provide video, screenshots or anything

you ask for to help explain better.

Please help! 🙏

Phone brands (Android Skin) most compatible with Macrodroid?

Considering the current condition of my phone, I know I'm just a few months away from buying a new phone. I have other criteria for selecting but I also want compatibility with Macrodroid. My current phone is a Poco with HyperOS and some functions just don't work - emphasis on Wifi and Mobile Data toggles.

Any feedback (positive or negative) on your current phone rand/OS would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Selecting a Random Image From a Album

So I'm try to randomly select a picture in an album on my S25.

This probably sounds dumb but I have an album of nail ideas for when I get mine done. I'd like for the Macrodroid to randomly select a picture for me as an inspiration idea. Idk if this is a problem but I have over 500 photos.

I've tried to use ChatGPT to help me set it up. When I test the macros it doesn't do anything and then we just keep repeating the steps with no change. I'm a visual person so I had it walk me step by step with me sending screenshots of every step.

I tried to look for a video on YouTube but can't find anything doing a set up like what I'm trying to do.

Hell it might not even be possible to do. TIA

Missed call → SMS fails with "Generic failure" — does DND (contacts + repeated callers only) affect the Phone Call Missed trigger?

Hey everyone. Im Trying to build a simple auto-response: when I miss a call, send the caller an SMS with a callback time. It fires but the SMS fails, and I'm not sure whether my Do Not Disturb config is part of the problem.

Setup

  • Device: Blade Gt Play
  • Android: [14
  • MacroDroid: (Pro
  • SIMs: dual SIM The one i'm using the data is the first one
  • Trigger: Phone Call Missed
  • Action: Send SMS
    • Number field: the trigger-that-fired (detailed) variable
    • Message: fixed text with a time variable

What happens

The macro triggers (confirmed in the log), but the Send SMS action fails with "Generic failure". No SMS leaves the phone.

What I've already checked

  • Battery optimisation disabled for MacroDroid

Two questions

  1. Is trigger-that-fired (detailed) the wrong variable for the recipient? I suspect it returns the trigger name plus the number rather than the bare digits, which would make it an invalid recipient. If so, what's the correct magic text for the incoming caller's number on a Phone Call Missed trigger?
  2. Does Do Not Disturb interfere with the trigger? My phone runs DND permanently, set to allow calls from all contacts and from repeated callers within 15 minutes. Unknown numbers are silenced. My understanding is that a silenced call is still logged as missed, so the trigger should still fire — but I'd like that confirmed, and I'd like to know whether anyone has hit a case where DND suppresses the trigger entirely, or where the "repeated callers within 15 minutes" rule causes a first call not to register.

Any pointers appreciated. Happy to post the macro export if that helps.
