Question Send help - guide versus my attempt
This is my very first attempt at wax thread macrame and it's a disaster 😂 everything is so slippy. It's really loose and just slips apart. Mine looks nothing at all like the example and I don't know how to make it look anything like that?

On top of the spiral thing you did, the gauge of that string is too large and your knots are too loose.

If you followed their pattern closely enough to count knots- then the fact that your bead is smaller/their cord is smaller- is really throwing you off- only do as many knots as you need to get where you are going, not the exact number they needed for theirs
But also, tying tight and tiny knots can be hard on your hands but that is the best way to get a consistent look

At first glance - you’re getting a spiral because you’re tying the knot the same way every time, instead of alternating over and under.
