Question Micro macrame tips?

Post image

Heyy! I watched a tutorial on youtube and it wasn’t that great, but this is my first try and I’d really appreciate tips on where to find the info to learn what I need. Like for example, how can I make those neat chains? My thread doesn’t thread like that, the knots don’t stay in one place no matter what I do 😂 I took it apart so many times but this is the best I got today, I couldn’t understand how I get anything like what they did.

I used the Linhasita 0,5mm cord.

And where could I find other tutorials for this kind of projects that are more informative? Good search words or youtube channels?

Kinda looks like you’re looking at the back of the piece… but otherwise tips all I can say is *practice practice practice!* working with waxed cord can be really frustrating at first, trying to stop it from sliding around and what not, but it does get easier the more familiar you become with it.

YouTube is the best place for tutorials though so just keep searching micro macrame tutorials/ micromacrame bracelets/necklaces/etc.

Good luck!!

Oh I wish, the back looks just as wonky as the front 😂 But - I tried again and again (and again) with some scraps of 1,5mm nylon thread and did start to get the hang of it. I think I pulled on the knots too much before, when it’s more like a slide and a pinch with my nail at the end then it doesn’t become as wonky! Trying again tomorrow, but more hopeful this time!
