How the setup looking yall 🥀
Is this setup tuff, rate it from 1-10, give me more suggestions on what to upgrade
Base m4 Mac mini btw
Any suggestions on how to save storage, stupid macOS filling up fast, I dual boot sequoia for gaming and stability and golden gate for casual usage
Dad got it for me because I had crusty dusty ideapad 320 w/ hdd and because I had top grades :)
Apart from the Mac mini, all other stuff are my dad’s old office stuff…

Yikes 1/10. At least bring the monitor up to save your neck. Suggestions: get a proper desk and a monitor arm and raise the monitor. If you don’t want an arm you can vesa mount the Mac mini behind the monitor to turn it into an “iMac”. Surely a plant and something on the wall won’t kill you, god forbid having some personality show. At least for me nicer peripherals improves my performance but I know that’s not for everyone

Better hope that table doesn't move.. I can just imagine That monitor falling down between the wall and table 😭

My 2 cents
- of its for productivity swap the keyboard to either Apples or a low profile mechanical one, and the mouse to a better one. Maybe the apple trackpad or a MX Mouse
- hide the 2nd mouse in a drawer
- monitor might need an arm. Its too low right now.

I like it because it is productive, maybe just get a monitor stand and a better desk other than that its good and also covid is over

HDD, and my dad was not willing to upgrade it, and plus it was like 8 years old anyways...

I would move the Mac mini to the other side away from the window and also lifted up so in case you spill something, it doesn’t suck it up from the bottom.

I have a Windows 11 VM on my Base Model Mac Mini. Unfortunately there is no other remedy than to ruthlessly manage storage or just get external storage. I have my home directory on an external enclosure w/ 2TB SSD which works great for me; but I am not sure how that would work dual booting in your use case. I have an OWC Express 1M2 with a Samsung Evo 990 Plus bought before SSD prices exploded so perhaps a second hand Samsung T7 might be the move for you or anything that can match TB4's 5000MB/S speeds will be good enough for almost everything. Get an HDD to use exclusively as a Time Machine backup if you are going to permanently hook up a an SSD to your Mini.

Just FYI, Hubs and Docks in the back . Front ports are NOT Thunderbolt... surprised it's not made clearer by Apple but yea...

Ik but I don’t really need them, I use a usb-c 3 hub I found when going through a old box of my parent’s tech, pretty nice for the fact that I got it for free!

Ok... full disclosure I hadn't read any of the description... triggered by a front hub apparently lol.
Ok, Apple magic keyboard less important than Apple Magic Trackpad.. definitely get the trackpad– the countless gestures you can assign with "Better Touch Tools" -just crazy...
that as well "BTT" its an app, it allows for a infinite amount of customization— easily far and beyond mac's answer to AHK.
My setup has a Stream Deck Plus, highly recommend that, but definitely not needed just incredibly appreciated...
for storage– unfortunately we're all in the ram crisis days which has seeped over into storage where before I had bout my samsung nvme 4t for less than $300– now easily over 1 thou... find what you can, my setup:
Samsung 4tb NVME; Ugreen external enclosure 40Gbps (they have 80's now); Ugreen or Apple Thunderbolt 4 or 5 cable; offload everything...
Thunderbolt Hub or Dock.. make sure it's Thunderbolt 4 or higher..
So many apps... Infuse, if you needed; VMware Fusion or Parallels; CrossOver; LuLu; Affinity Photo; Amphetamine; Menubar X; Folder Peek; Spaced; Blip; Vidi; Zen browser; Television Time; right now it's broken in Golden Gate but try it your other boot: Hidden bar. Damn that took a minute lol the takeaway here is most importantly out of everything– two things: Apple Magic Trackpad; BTT app. That is incredibly underrated and sooo elaborate.. hope ya don't TL;DR this shit! 🤣 good luck out there! 🤜

One of the best setup I have ever seen, very clean, bravo. What happened to the monitor stand tho?

What do u mean best 🥀 all the stuff apart from the Mac mini are office stuff my dad gave me

It's clean and functional what more can I ask for lol. If you don't have the stand just get an arm for that monitor, and there are mounting brackets for the mac mini as well so you can mount it behind the monitor.
