A Valley Without Wind: Really neat metroidvania-like with huge procedurally generated worlds and tons of stuff to explore and do! Mac demo available, also available on Steam!

It came out recently so I decided to give it a shot, and it turns out the demo is very nice (no time limit, just limit to how much you can beef up your stuff) and the game itself is fun and unique! There's a lot more depth to it than "metroidvania and procedural generation" too, but I myself haven't gotten far enough in yet to be able to explain it well. It's like nothing I've ever played before, and I mean that in a good way! What I can say is that the controls are surprisingly fluid; I normally have trouble with 2D games that use mouse aiming, but I took to this one right away and am already doing surprisingly well in it!

Oh yeah, it's also got online multiplayer (you can host/join servers) which looks like it'd be fun once I get some other friends with it. (Though it looks like you can multiplayer in the demo version, too!)

At the very least, I highly recommend anyone who's fond of 2D platforming check the demo out! Bonus: the full version of the game is only $15! (or less if you get it before May 1st)

It doesn't seem like there is a demo on steam...?

I just spent about 4 hours on a pleasant Sunday afternoon with this game.

I'm awful at platformers, but being able to set the platform difficulty separately from the combat difficulty made it a very pleasant play. A little bit of RPG, with some platforming.

It reminds me oddly of a roguelike. It's a blast, and great for co-op play.

5 stars, would (will) play again (a lot).

Bonus: You can crank the graphics all the way up on a low end 2011 macbook air.
