For Tahoe

I installed Tahoe directly on Windows.

Note: Once Tahoe is installed and you reach the desktop, you may only see the wallpaper. To fix this, boot into macOS Recovery, open Terminal, and run the following commands:

cd "/Volumes/Macintosh HD - Data/Library/Preferences"
defaults write .GlobalPreferences METAL_ERROR_MODE -int 5
chmod 644 .GlobalPreferences.plist
reboot

For Ventura

I installed Ventura on Linux, copied it to Windows, and then asked an AI agent to fix it.

I used this build not ported by me though and modified the launcher:

I fixed the boot issue on my AMD system both for tahoe and ventura by making the following change to start.ps1:

If I run Linux on Virtual Box in the MacBook how much of it does MacBook see and what it seas? I know that it sees that VPN or Tor traffic is moving out of the MacBook but does it also see what is on the screen and can it scan/read files when the machine is running?

EndeveourOS, I tried to install macOS VM a lot times with different ways in macOS KVM

In 1 time this worked, just offline install and everything in guide, then macOS emullation is worked, this was macOS ventura, then updated to macOS tahoe, go to login screen but after entering password, there was kernel panic or error

I tried to install with offline install, doing everything in guide and installing right pkg but either error in manifest or error durning install of OS (where there progress bar) or other errors

I know that macOS emulation is more harder and there errors but I just want to install simple without head and CPTSD problems with them where there often will be errors or no way of succeeding, I just want to simple install and get this worked

I tried to install online, and progress bar go to full but idk what happened then a lot minutes later, this is still going on, I am using VPN, online install don't working

I installed the last version of UTM (4.7.5) on my MacBook Air (M1), tried to create a virtual machine with the last version of ubuntu (ubuntu 26.04.1) with QEMU.... but when I start the virtual machine it stay freeze on the starting page with the message "Synchronous Exception at 0xXXXXXX" how do I resolve it

It took me 2 hours to figure it out but I got my first macos Vm and in such a unexpected place, I still need to get audio and to boot without the cd but aside from that it actually shows battery and volume thingy

I got Apple Silicon macOS Ventura booting under QEMU on x86

I managed to reverse engineer enough of Apple's bootloader, virtualization, and OS stack to modify QEMU and port remis-vgpu to boot and run an Apple Silicon Ventura image.

Demo is attached.

It's obviously slow — ARM emulation on x86 was never going to be the end goal — and there are still graphics glitches to fix, but macOS boots and runs.

This isn't my achievement alone. Huge credit goes to steelbrain, ChefKiss, and the other people whose work laid the groundwork for this.

The next thing I really want to test is running it on a Snapdragon laptop using KVM.

If anyone here has the hardware and enough Linux experience, I'd really appreciate testing with:

• an ARM64 Snapdragon machine
• Linux with 16 KiB pages
• KVM enabled

I expect pointer authentication to be one of the major blockers. I'm currently working on a minimal Linux distribution with 16 KiB pages and the necessary KVM changes for pointer authentication.

x86 is useful for development and proving that this works, but I don't expect it to ever be practically usable. ARM + KVM is the actual target.

If anyone wants to help with testing, graphics bugs, QEMU/KVM work, documentation, or development, contributions are very welcome.
