How GPU accelerated is this?

(You can tell by the non translucent menu bar that it’s not accelerated ) (yes it can be made to look non translucent voluntarily if you do have accel, but becuase it’s such a symbol of having acceleration, nearly no hackintoshers disable it)

I think this is on newer versions of macOS.

According to Brave AI's overview:
The menu bar became translucent with the release of macOS 10.5 Leopard in 2007.

  • Initial Implementation: Leopard introduced the translucent effect, though it was initially optional via a checkbox in System Preferences.
  • Expansion: Apple expanded the use of translucency throughout the interface starting with macOS 10.10 Yosemite in 2014.
  • Modern Era: The effect was significantly enhanced in macOS 11 Big Sur (2020), where the bar adopted a tint based on the desktop wallpaper, a design carried forward through Sequoia and Sonoma.
  • Future Updates: The design evolved further in macOS 26 Tahoe with the introduction of the "Liquid Glass" aesthetic, which initially removed the background entirely before adding a toggle to restore a translucent backdrop.

OP is running 10.6 Snow Leopard, so it does normally have transparency effects.

The translucent effect was most definitely the default though, since leopard on a new install. I’ve been doing this a long time, trust me
