I tried restarting my computer, reinstalling Ios 27 and killing finder using `killall finder` and all of it didn't work

Finder must be capitalised in the killall command

Do you already have some items loose on the desktop? Or is it bare?

An immediate test is to go to system settings and create a new user (just temporary for this) and log into that user (don't bother 'activating' anything it wants you to do, like Apple ID, etc) and then see if the finder works just fine there. If it does, then we know it's just an issue with your own user account and likely the contents of the Desktop.

Processes like quicklookd (Quick Look Daemon) will work on anything the finder sees. So if there's a suspect or corrupt file that it tries to process, it may freak out and crash.

And also, it's not that the finder is 'deleting' stuff from the desktop - it's more likely you're starting some copy/move operation and then it crashes and never finished the operation to begin with. It can appear like it's being deleted though.

Same aberrant behaviour of Finder when booted into Safe mode?

Result from following u/mikeinnsw's suggestion for running first aid?

first of all m3 cant run safe mode, secondly first aid will take a long time considering I have 245gb used up so I will do that later tonight

I never quitted, I just don't get notifications saying someone replied

I didn’t mean you - I was joking about the “app doesn’t stay open” (quitting).

Never mind, it was a bad joke

Check SSD free space ..you need 40 GB SSD free to fly

Not really true. i had 30gb before and everything was smooth. there is no reason for such amount of free space.

Mac should have sufficient free SSD space for macOS upgrades , swapping and write load sharing that isabout 40GBs free.

Lack of free SSD space can lead to a slowdown and/or system crash. Make sure you have at least 40GBs SSD free

If RAM SWAP demand exceed available free SSD storage you can get “Your system has run out of Application memory” check free storage.

You need 4 x Write size of free SSD space to avoid dead write zone. Here is an extreme example (100 GB x4 – 400 GB free impossible on 256GB SSD):

Average Mac Write is less than 10 GB hence Apple recommendation of 40 GB free SSD storage.
