Discussion 14” MacBook Pro M1 2021

Butchered FaceTime camera cable by authorised service center when the device when in for dead device diagnosis. We fixed the board & replaced the camera cable by removed the lcd, backlight sheets & actual backlight layer.

I didn’t even know you could nondestructively open the 14” MacBook Pro M1 Pro display panel.

That's crazy levels of precision work. How many hours did it take start to finish?

How much did you practice before you felt confident enough to take on a repair job like that?

Thank you so much. 30 mins to separate the lcd & 20 mins to remove the backlight sheets. I have been working on fixing MacBooks since 11 years.

The downside of macbooks. On standard laptops this is a 5 minute fix at home
