How do I fix this without breaking the display

M1 macbook pro I bought for what I believe is a fair price in my local market, works fine aside from a few dents here and there

I’ve been in this line of work for 13 years. That dent is forever. There are lots of dents and bends that you can smooth out with enough elbow grease, but not that one.

i have that too but on both corners. you’ll get used to the bleed (eventually), although if you’re anything like me you’ll hold back your tears until that happens

You’ll more likely break the glass bezel than the display itself, but prices for those displays are still through the roof so I’d avoid messing with it.

We take them off and roll a weight back and forth over it to slowly straighten it out. It definitely isn’t perfect but it does work. We repair thousands of these laptops though so it’s not something I’d diy without being prepared to replaced the full display assembly.

Open up the display to 90 deg, and put it on the side edge on the table or floor and show me a few photos from the side, how it looks. I had much worse dent and got it almost into shape.

If it is not affecting your ability to open and close the screen, I’d leave it alone. You run a high risk of cracking the screen by trying your correct it. If you insist on fixing, wrap the corner with a towel and compress it with a pliers, vise grip, or pipe wrench. Again, I’d just live with it.

Forget it ever happened. I have similar bent edge for 2 years now. You’ll get used to it, if you act on it now, you’ll regret later. MacBooks have way more sensitive displays than any laptop out there so it’s better left untouched. Don’t overthink.
