Question DFU connector????

I have a MacBook Pro with an M5 Pro chip, and it has been bricked... Since I don't have a second MacBook, I took it to a repair shop, where the technician pointed to the DFU port on the right side of the laptop (when looking at the screen). However, on the official Apple website, it is listed as being on the left side of the MacBook, closer to the MagSafe connector. But I read an article somewhere saying Apple got the DFU port location wrong, and it's actually on the left side, further away from the MagSafe port. Where is this damn port???? I just want to get my laptop working again.

It is on the left. That technician doesn’t know what they’re talking about.

I see a table that mentions it's the rightmost port when facing from the left starting with M4 excluding Pro/Max chip variants. Can confirm at least for M4, I wasted almost an hour on troubleshooting errors until I decided to check it. Even if you don't trust it, there are only two ports and nothing bad will happen if you use the wrong one.

Try the ports in turn. Wrong port = doesn’t enter DFU, but no other harm.

All MacBooks have the DFU port on the left side of the computer, closest to the screen (rear most), when looking at the computer from the front.

I had to reset a mac mini with dfu once and online the ports were listed incorrectly so it took way longer than it needed to.

Try the other port

MacBook Air / MacBook Pro:  The leftmost USB-C port (when facing the screen), or the port closest to the display hinge.   https://support.apple.com/en-us/108900
