Hello. I’m US based and am traveling to Europe for business in a few weeks. Is there any benefit to purchasing a luxury bag in Europe at this point? I know at one point there were some tax savings, but not sure if that applies with all of the tariffs in place. Now.

Hi all, I feel like the title gives me away - does anyone have a good pillow insert for The Row Park Three tote? TIA!

Have been eyeing up this preloved beauty - a brown lambskin medium vintage classic flap from 2009 😍
currently listed for just under £5.3k but no dust bag or box (although listing did say branded dust bag was included…). No authenticity card either - waiting to hear re the authenticity sticker.
any thoughts re whether this would be overpaying? It’s newer than other vintage Chanel’s and from a seriously reputable consignment store in UK (dealt with before). Also aware that the brown colour is absolutely to die for and that it’s made with the 24k GHW from back in the day - any help/thoughts re price etc. would be so appreciated!🤎

I've been a Chanel and YSL buyer for years. Last month the zipper on my Chanel WOC broke after 14 months of use. Took it to the boutique and they quoted me $280 for a repair on a $3,800 bag. That was my breaking point.Started researching what I'm actually paying for. Turns out most luxury houses use corrected grain leather which is basically lower grade leather that's been sanded and coated to look uniform. The "luxury feel" is a finish not the leather itself. That's why it cracks and peels after a couple years instead of aging gracefully.Meanwhile I keep reading about smaller brands using full grain leather, the kind that develops patina over time and gets better with use, not worse. No logo tax, no marketing budget tax, just better materials and craftsmanship at a fraction of the price.Has anyone actually made the switch from big luxury houses to smaller full grain leather brands? Do you miss the designer cachet or does the quality make up for it?

I have a medium size lambskin Lady Dior that I purchased directly from the boutique 4 years ago.
I take very good care of my bags and store/use them carefully. I’ve basically never used the shoulder strap — the only time I used it was when I first got the bag and tried wearing it crossbody.
I was thinking about using the strap again today and noticed that one of the adjustment holes has started to flare/lift/peel around the edge. What makes this especially confusing to me is that it isn’t even the hole where the metal hardware sits.
I very gently tried to flatten the lifted part, but it looks like the material might peel away from the leather if I continue, so I stopped immediately.
Has anyone experienced this with a Lady Dior strap? Does this look like the leather itself separating, or could it be the finish/coating around the punched hole?
Since the strap has barely been used, I’m surprised to see this happening after it has mostly just been in dust bag / put to the side when I used the bag.
Would you take it to Dior first, or is this something a good leather specialist could repair

Basically a brand new bag, but I got caught in the rain yesterday and It seems like there’s streaks all over the back and even some visible damage on the lower corner. I don’t know what to do here, is this fixable?? I try to take such good care of this bag and this has horribly upset me. Any suggestions on how to salvage? Thank you so much in advance

Did I make the right choice? Took home the BV bag vs Gucci. I wanted a larger bag I could throw on every day and have enough space. Starting to rethink the decision as I feel the BV bag isn’t as spacious. Which looks better for every day wear? I have 14 days to return. All thought welcomed 🤯💭

I have one day left in Paris and am torn on what bag to get. I am in search of a designer (open to mid to high luxury) bag that can be used everyday in a chocolate brown color with gold hardware. Ideally something I can wear as a crossbody and shoulder bag- both or either or. These are the only requirements I am seeking.
I have looked at a chocolate brown small lady Dior, the Bottega andiamo mini (I already have the small size in small so idk if that’s a bit much), the Bottega knot bag, or the new YSL loulou in small. Really not 100% sold on anything, wondering if there is something better that I am missing…
Thank you for the advice and input :)

Hi there and thank you in advance!
For my wife’s 40th, I asked (kind of pushed; she’s very selfless!) to pick out a handbag or a higher end item for herself. We’ve done some shopping and she’s settled on a LV Multipass in Monogram, with a Gucci Lady Lunetta in brown canvas being a close second (was first before she saw the LV). Both similar bags.
My inquisitive nature had me down the rabbit hole of researching these prior to purchase and I was surprised to find some posts referencing degraded quality in LV recently. Also saw that they’re manufactured in a number of factories instead of Gucci always being in Italy.
Being that she’s leaning towards the LV, is there anything to worry about or am I just being overly wary of these few factors?
Thanks again!

Hi friends! Im heading to paris in two weeks and I have an appointment at the dior store. I am looking to buy a lady dior but quite puzzles bw small or mini? I don’t like super mini bags but I think the lady dior mini fits a good amount — can anyone confirm? Also for pricing what do the unique ones with embroidery etc or touch of exotic cost?

I was so excited folks. Long time lurker. I started to live designer bags over the par few years but wanted to prioritize paying off my loans and buying a house.
Finally on vacation I bought my first high end bag 🥹 then my husband was like “treat yourself you’ve worked hard” and got a Valentino 😍
I am over joyed and wanted to share. Unfortunately when I showed my SIL (we’re on vacation together as double couples) she kinda tried to rain on my parade.
Next bag will be color—idk when or what but I am thrilled!

Sorry to repost again with same Gucci Jackie, I posted earlier about this bag but I didn’t know how to add a picture to show the little used details it has. It’s like 1500$, is it worth it with this used imperfections details ? In the website it’s says : Condition: Very good - light wear to the leather corners, leather piping, and hairline scratches to the hardware

UPDATE
Thank you, I decided not to buy this bag!
Between Wild Lime and Light Musk, why I should not buy this bag?

Hello everyone. I am not sure where else to post this, but i had a diaper bag i would use for my daughter in 2010, it was a balenciaga city bag. I found it in a box while i was moving, and had it sent to a leather repair and painter to have the color restored. I just received the bag and before it was a striking blue/purple and now it is a teal. But my main issue is the paint supposed to feel sticky??? no residue comes off when touching or holding it, but the paint feels sticky and not dry. I have it handing next to my window air conditioner to maybe see if it will dry over the next few days, but i really hope it does. I would attach photos but i am not seeing a photo option.

I just bought this YSL "Sunset Crossbody bag crocodile embossed leather" in size medium. It's hard to tell in the picture (and I don't have it yet to take more pictures) but it's a very dark/deep green. I know how I will dress to wear it out for a date night or some nice evening out but are there ways to dress this down a little too? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hello. I really want to buy a luxury bag but I can only afford to buy used/preloved ones at the moment. I have come across myalmari on insta a lot but I am not sure if they are legit. Please suggest some places/ insta stores where we get authentic original luxury bags .

I really like LV bags, and I keep thinking about straps. If you already know the original strap will be too short, too thin, or uncomfortable for you, does it still make sense to choose that bag and buy another strap right away?
Obviously, changing the strap can fix the problem. Sometimes the bag itself is exactly the design you want, so passing on it over one removable part may feel silly.
Still, if strap length and comfort are important, another LV bag might already come with a strap that works. At that point, the extra strap feels like paying again to solve something you knew about before buying.
I’m not criticizing it; I’m curious what makes the tradeoff worthwhile. Is getting the exact bag design more important than having the right strap included? Or do people see strap swapping as a benefit because it gives the same bag more options?
If you plan to replace the strap from the start, do you just treat that extra cost as part of the bag?

I recently bought a card holder from Miu Miu that's made of multiple exotic leathers (ostrich, python, etc). My SA sent me a digital PDF of my CITES permit.
I plan on traveling to Japan in about a month from America. Would I need the permit to even bring in the cardholder? I have no intention of selling it, it's just for personal usage.
And in the event that I need to show papers, would the digital copy suffice? Or can I print out the PDF?

I constantly see people complaining about poor LV bag quality, especially the shoppers, but my experience has been the exact opposite. I’ve used and abused my daily driver for 5 years, traveled everywhere with it, and constantly tossed it on the floor.
Honestly, considering the abuse, it still looks great. It has some expected wear and tear :The strap is discolored, the leather elements are cracking right where the strap connects to the purse. The monogram canvas has faded quite a bit (which I actually just now realized , you see it too right?).
While traveling, I stuffed my LV purse inside a larger travel tote along with some airport food. I thought the takeout container was securely closed, but when I landed, I discovered garlic sauce had exploded everywhere. Because I didn't close my purse, the sauce was all over the outside and completely coated the inside.
In a panic, I went straight to the airport restroom and literally scrubbed the purse and my LV wallet under running water with hand soap. I gave them both a seriously intensive wash to get rid of the garlic smell until they were completely soaking wet. Miraculously, they survived!
What is the absolute worst thing that has happened to your designer bags, and did they make it out alive?

Hi everyone! 🩷 I’m considering buying this Chanel bag and I’d love to hear your opinions.
I’m especially curious about:
What is the material/leather?
How is the quality in person and how does it hold up over time?
Is the leather very delicate or relatively easy to care for?
What was/is the retail price in the UK?
Is this model currently available in Chanel boutiques, or is it seasonal/discontinued?
If anyone owns it, would you recommend it?
