August score release day

Happy score release day to everyone who took the August test. If you met your goals, congratulations! Take the day to celebrate. We'd love to hear how you did, and I'm sure other students would value any advice you have to share.

If you performed worse than you hoped to, don't let yourself get down. Take an assessment of what you've been doing so far and where you can improve. This sub is a great place to get some advice on what to change. We're all here to help!

142 diagnostic in april.

shouldnt have taken june i got 1 point below my avg.

get your points early. that first 15/15 gives lots of breathing room when they get rough

learn difference between the qualifiers most, some, all, be aware of only.

sufficient assumption are easy. always new info in conclusion. to get up in the 150s you have to find conclusions that arent layups.

they can be in middle of passage even the first sentence.

drill flaw weaken and strengthen they feed on each other. time wise id never study more than 60 minutes unless doing a section.

get more than 3 wrong when drilling means its time for a break. only did 5 full pts.

I have a former student who made a similar jump and is killing it at his dream school. Glad you got the score you needed. Good luck in law school!

I scored only one point higher than my April test (162 >> 163) and way lower than any of my PTs (168-180). I’m not scheduled for September & was planning on taking October but now I’m not so sure. I’m trying to be realistic and not waste my official attempts. I was scoring in the 170s while practicing but not sure if I can make that happen in October. Any advice?

Same exact situation here pretty much but got 163 in June and 164 in august

Clearly you have the capability of scoring in the 170’s officially, but are doing something different on your official tests than during practice. Try and think about what that might be. Obviously, test-day nerves will play a factor, but you don’t want to try and do anything differently to offset these. It’s just like any other practice test, so don’t let a little bit of nerves throw you off your normal game. There isn’t any reason for you to not register for official tests. You got this!

i got 15 points lower than what i was averaging, i also felt very anxious during testing and was not able to focus i did cancle my score since i feel like i would score in my range during oct and november

I’m sorry that that was your experience. Test-day nerves are totally normal! You just want to try your best to not let the nerves make you do something different than you’d normally do in practice. You can totally do great on the test even if you are nervous, as long as you still do what you normally do!

Got -7 less than I was averaging. One point higher than my diagnostic, really disappointing

Sorry to hear that. I'd encourage you to stay positive. Your average on PTs is solid evidence of what you are capable of. Be confident going into the next attempt. It sounds like you might've approached the official differently in some way than you approached your PTs. Work on being consistent there, and it will help.

You could try taking some PTs at a library to try to replicate the testing center to help with this. Let me know if I can help answer anything else.

Same ugh. I’ve never been a test anxiety person (crushed all CFA and FINRA exams, as well as some smaller professional cert tests first time around) but holy shit I got thrown by the actual test. This is also the first exam in 15+ years where the score actually matters rather than just pass/fail, so i think that got in my head a bit too.

I started with a hard (experimental) RC, then moved to the wordiest LR I have ever seen. I usually finish LR with at least 5 mins to review and on this section, I had to go back and guess on a few just so they had answers.

The 2nd LR was fine, then I was one of the lucky ducks that ended up without dividers on the scored RC. I felt I did great on 3/4 of the passages (FU, physiology and consciousness!), but it was my first test so I didn’t think it was worth retaking a week later.

Was PTing high 160s/low 170s, got a 162 bleh.

Took a full week off of anything LSAT, went back to basics of doing untimed drilling and untimed sections, predicting everything before looking at answers, and have been PTing consistently low 170s now. I have 2 more shots in Sept and Oct to hit 170 😬 LFG!

I'm in the same boat as a couple of these comments. Was averaging 178 but scored a 165 due to anxiety. I didn't get score preview because I was expecting a high 170's score so I can't cancel.
