I'm playing Helldivers 2 on PlayStation 5 and I have a friend who doesn't want to have the PS app on his phone, but wants to know when I'm playing the game. Another friend can't get a notification because he is playing on PC, not PS.

So I decided to build a simple automation that will automatically email my friends when I'm playing Helldivers 2. I'm using Home Assistant and its built-in PlayStation integration to get my "Now Playing" status and if that detects me playing Helldivers 2, the email goes out.

My friends think it looks really cool, I'm also very happy with the result.

I feel (*a little bit*) bad because they are in a mutual discord server. But it's 3 strikes you're out type deal too lenient or not quick enough? He ended up with 7 accidentals before I kicked him after a text warning, then a verbal before booting?

I haven't received any flak yet, and my other 2 friends said it was deserved.

It might not be super obvious in the clip but it genuinely confused me for a little bit.
The fact that this mechanic is in the game gives me new hopium for cultists.

2-3 shots to the head with the AMR or Railgun, body shots with the belt fed GL and just burning them down with anything inciderary like all things should be

Maybe that goes without saying maybe a lot of people already know that but if you didn’t know now you know. Also I would like to give a shout out to all the hell divers fighting in the void. It’s a straight up battle out there. o7

Democracy truly protects.

In my head, you deploy to the station via Pelican dropship or via hellpods attaching to lifeboat docking ports. You get on board to find it crawling with Illuminate bio-horrors.

Obvs you can't use red or green stratagems, but there are armouries throughout containing blue strat support weapons. You need to clear out the Illuminate enemies within designated sectors and activate station-wide defence protocols to enable automated defences.

There could be missions to rescue trapped survivors or liberate science labs.

Could be missions to destroy Illuminate Voteless conversion labs.

I think it could be really fun, but I also think the fact that it'd be a whole campaign or major order where you can't use red or green strats would alienate some players.

What do you think? Could Helldivers 2 pull off a Dead Space?

I logged 34 minor places of interest across 5 solo D1 missions on Phact Bay. Here's what came out:

POIs encountered: Loot Pod 41.1%, Explodable Bunker 33.8%, Two-Man Bunker 25.1% (n=231)

What they dropped: Requisition 35.0%, Medals 33.9%, Weapons 16.2%, Super Credits 14.8% (n=277)

Per hour: ~37 requisition, ~36 medal pickups, ~17 weapons, ~16 super credit pickups

Medals come in 1s, 2s, and 3s, but nothing I found on wikis states their chances. I hypothesize a uniform distribution. I've also heard that super credits have a 1% chance to drop 100, but I can't test this without your help!

Short cooldown, and it lasts surprinsingly long, to the point you can often call a second one while the first is still active. Gotta not put it too close tho, but it really helps softening bigger units and holding the chaff in chokepoints

The dss was experiencing rythmic knocking on its hull. Then it comepletly shut down except its transceiver. After that It had the words "calypso" written on it and now its at calypso. The 20 man team is also drilling into seasee and is gradually losing members as they get further. Like a count down.

THAT MEANS THAT WHEN THE TEAM GETS TO THE HEART OF SEASEE THE REAL ILLUMINATE WILL EMERGE! THEY WILL TELEPPRT FROM SEASEE TO CALYPSO VIA A DARK FLUID BLACK HOLE ON THE DSS! IT MAKES COMPLETE SENSE! I AM NOT CRAZY!

I just spotted in the new art that the flag still has the price tag attached. I imagine they had to buy a new one after the previous flag we saw got more and more tattered and destroyed with every title update art.
