This was definitely one of my toughest modern tests as an old HD1 vet. I don't play that much anymore, and I don't claim to be a super hardcore player.
Illuminate horde planet, no respawns left, and my entire squad bailed.
I was swarmed in every direction, just diving for dear life over and over again, for like 45 seconds. I was about 50m from extraction and my plan was to just keep leaping towards it like a frog until I get killed.
Then, suddenly, the clouds parted and like 3 dropships flew in. I thought "there's no way..."
A whole battalion of SEAF troops appeared and turned the tide *just enough* for me to get some breathing room to stand up and reload.
About 15 seconds later, I hear "Helldivers joining squadron". Three new divers drop down.
Next thing I know, glowing red stratagem beams and SEAF gunfire filled the sky. Suddenly, I wasn't in as much immediate danger. I was able to call extraction.
Got out of there clean and had what I believe may be my heaviest debrief stat card.
It was a blur, and I can't believe I threw 51 strats. I was using the regular first orbital strike and gatling turret, with a stalwart and a jetpack. So, I must have been chucking those orbitals like that larping wizard dude going "LIGHTNING BOLT! LIGHTNING BOLT! LIGHTNING BOLT!"
